Hi - I went to accupuncture for my IVF cycles and am wondering if anyone has done it for FET - Wondering how it may be different. Any success stories?

I did, and it worked! In fact, I hadn't done acupuncture for the ivf cycles, but I tried it with the FET. So I highly recommend it!

Hi, I am wondering whether you specifically go to acupuncture for fertility issues. I am going to be starting FET soon and I am wondering whether I should find an acupuncturist who deals w/ fertility issues or explain to them that I am having FET??? I also have back pain so I could have the acupuncturist work on that as well...just not sure of the steps to take. Thanks.

My acupuncturist doesn't specialize in fertility, but I told her that I was going for fertility and, in particular, an FET. There was a study were acupuncture done twice on the day of transfer (both before and after) caused a marked increase in success rates for embryo transfers. So my acupuncturist looked up the study on line and replicated it with me.

I just got home from my first ac appointment. I will be doing an FET in July. I've never done ac before, so it was an interesting appointment! She said I have a weak kidney pulse, which is an issue, and I have phlegm build-up (nice) and dampness. All of these could be causing my miscarriages. She gave me some herbs - something to help the kidney function. I need to talk to my doctor before taking them, but she said since I won't be on the IVF meds until July I should be fine. I will stop the herbs when I start with the estrogen patches.

She did several needles in my back, neck and legs. She also did my foot and hand, trying to work on my kidney pulse. She knew several things about me without me telling her. I really enjoyed it and left there feeling like I just had a massage. I am looking forward to next week.

That is so cool. I am going to try and find an acupuncturist nearby. I will try and do some research on that study too.

I did the accupuncture last year for the IVF. I loved it, found it very relaxing, except the 1 right between the eyes was a little wierd. I will be doing it again for the FET this month. Can't wait to go.

have an acupuncture question for you guys. I planned on starting acupuncture a couple of months ago, but that did not happen. I called a couple of clinics and one does the fertility acupuncture right before the transfer and right after the transfer (both on the day of transfer). The other acupuncturist said she used to do it that way but found she had better outcomes by spreading it out. She wanted to do one session on Thursday (FET is scheduled for Friday) and one session a few days after transfer. Anyone have any advice on which protocol to follow? Thanks!
