Acupuncture and Success... Is it true?

I have read lots and lots of good things about acupuncture. I have started it myself and I am now on my 7th treatment. Right now I am only going once a week (except on this last IUI I had to go twice). I feel GREAT after my sessions and am just really hoping it helped this IUI, since my 1st one didn't take and I wasn't doing acupuncture during that one.

Does ANYONE have any success stories or even just any stories of your own you can share. I am new to this site and just really hope it'll help me cope w/ everything we all are going through.

Thanks

I did acc for about 12 weeks, going twice a week. I also took herbs and at home heat treatments. I had no luck...it was a good stress reliever, but after awhile became a hassle going that often. We've been TTC for just over a year. I'm all cleared and so is DH...but I have heard it can be helpful.

I have only had acupuncture once so far, but I am reading a book called "The Infertility Cure" by R. Lewis and it explains how acupuncture helps the body as a whole. It is very interesting and seems to make sense. I am sure it would answer a lot of your questions. Good luck

My first accupunture appointment today

I just had my first accupunture appointment today and I loved it. I have a feeling this will really help us this go around of another IVF cycle. My sister did it along with her IVF and now has twins. The only problem is my insurance doesn't cover it and it is $80 a visit, she recommends I at least go twice a month but money is really tight right now and plus we're going to have to pay out of pocket for the IVF meds as well. My husband isn't a beleiver in accupuncture and thinks it will be a waste of money but I am just trying everything in my power to make it work this time. I am just so confused on what to do

I've done acupuncture once a week for the past 2 months or so. I've noticed a definite improvement this past cycle in my hormone levels. Previous cycles my LH was always super high, my estrogen way too low and my lining too thin. This cycle I've had nearly textbook perfect hormone levels and lining and I'm sure therefore that I made a good quality egg. I'm just waiting to see if I'm pregnant this cycle, but I totally believe that the regular acupuncture will make me pregnant soon, given the positive effect its had on my reproductive cycle so far. I strongly recommend it!

This is my 1st IVF cycle. I had ER on 7/2 and 3 5 day blasts transferred on 7/7. I tried acupuncture for this round because my Nurse at my RE's office highly recommended it and after going twice a week for about 5-6 weeks I would highly recommend it as well. I fell prey to the evil HPT test last night and it was negative, but I am hoping it was because I took it too early. At any rate, if I have to go through another IVF cycle I will include acupuncture as part of my treatment plan as well... if anything it definitely makes you feel less stressed, it also will get rid of the Lupron headache (given Lupron is part of your protocol) and you just feel very relaxed. My acupuncturest also had my husband come in so he could show him how to give me a femural artery massage. Apparently doing this increases blood flow to your ovaries to help with the stimulation, etc. beta is on 7/21. I really need to stay away from the HPTs.

I too am having acupuncture treatments. I'm a very high strung person so this has really helped me to just chill out. I've had 6 sessions and I look forward to the next one. We are taking a break over the summer but plan to begin our 4th IVF in Sept. I also have added Hatha Yoga.

Acupuncture success

I have some sort of success to report which I believe is due to acupuncture and natural suuplements. Let me start by saying that I had been on a cancelled cycle due to hyperstim since July. During my time off I decided to start acupuncture and start taking royal jelly, bee pollen, wheatgrass, coq10, bluegreen algae and primrose oil. Plus I have been eating a much healthier diet. I cut out starchy carbs and sugars. And ate more whole foods and cooked green vegies.
the first thing I noticed (besides feeling great and energized) was that my period had returned to a more youthful state. My flow was heavier and lasted for 3 full days. And I had cramps! Which I havent experienced for the past 2 years.
I just started back up with follistim injections. I went back to my lower dose that went well the first time. My
last cycle that I hyper stimed was a higher dose.
Anyway, this time I started to overstimulate again. But on the lower dose. My re was very confused. She asked if I lost any weight. She said it was like I was a different person! I told her that I had been taking acupuncture and supplements. All she could say was that she kind of wished that I had remained the same because it would have been easier to figure the right dose. But I'm glad that I am different now!
And we were able to save this cycle after all. She had me stop taking follistim for one day and then only 50 iu on the following day. Tomorrow I go in for an iui with many follicles! I got the speech about risk of multies. But I'm not worried about that. Even though I've got all these beautiful follies and I may have made an improvement in my egg quality, I still think because of my age(42) I'll be lucky to get one healthy egg.

Kuddos to acupuncture and healthy living!

I started acupuncture 3 months before my IVF which is the minimum recommened time frame according to my acupuncturist. I went 3 times a month and when having the egg transfer had acupuncture right before and right after the transfer. In addition to being really relaxing during an incredibly stressfull time in our lives, our IVF worked! I believe the mind is a powerful tool and anything I could do to ease my mind and give me the feeling I was doing positive things towards getting pregnant was well worth it.

acupuncture.

My view....I have done 23 treatments with massage and still now . I spent 2,000 on it and still no .

Im in the 2ww now...so follow me and see if it works.
This is my last week for acupuncture.....so 1 more week of hope for it...if it doesn;t workfor me with no problems known....I would suggest saving your money for IUI or IVF.

Good luck!

I had been ttc for 3 1/2 years when I decided (as a last ditch effort) to try acupunture. My TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) doctor asked me to read "The Infertility Cure". After one treatment and one week of herbs, I became pregnant naturally. Needless to say, I was amazed. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks. After that, I took a break from all things "ttc" and now am again doing acupuncture and herbs. Also, my friend (who has been ttc for 6 years) was able to finally conceive through IVF after going to this same TCM doctor.

Egg tranfer today will do accupunture tomorrow

Just had my egg transfer today. I only had one egg to work with. They got 11 eggs out, only six mature and only three fertilized. From that only one embryo survived. Not the AA quality, but better than nothing. I remembered my accupuncture and decided to see him just to help with implantatation. I guess my embryo will emplant either today or tomorrow. It will be a long eight days for me. I have little hope. I am 39yrs old. Maybe my eggs are just not very good anymore. Anyone know about donor eggs? I noticed that the success rate is significantly higher. This is my first post here.
Hello everyone. I have enjoyed reading other posts here and wanted to jump on the bandwagon.
