For those who are still TTC
I thought I would pass this on. It was sent to me since I moderate a secondary infertility group on Yahoo. I know of someone who used an acupuncturist and had success. As a massage therapist I am also aware of the benefits of massage and Reflexology. It can make a difference in infertility depending on the situation. I just thought I would send this as a FYI.
Hugs Kim As an acupuncturist, I currently work with several women who have infertility issues and I thought that I could share some information on infertility. I worked in the past with a well-known acupuncturist Angela Shen who was named the fertility goddess. There are natural and less expensive approaches to fertility that I suggest everybody tries before they decide for the medical route which is more invasive and expensive (of course, the alternatives do not create miracles, in some cases, as you know infertility is caused by severe imbalances). Both partners need to be screened (tested) and treated for best results. > > Nutrients and stress could be often the key factor in treatment of infertility. For instance, essential fats have a profound effect on every system of the body, including the reproductive system and they are crucial for healthy hormone functioning. For men essential fatty acid supplementation is crucial because the semen is rich in prostaglandins which are produced from these fats. Men with poor sperm quality, abnormal sperm, poor motility or low count, have inadequate levels of these beneficial prostaglandins. Women need these fatty acids for their hormone production. I suggest you look into taking pharmaceutical grade fish oil to increase the intake of EFAs. To find out about the best quality fish oil, go to my website: www.healthtransformations.net (while you are there, make sure go to my articles and read the one on how TCM can help infertility). > > Recommended supplements for the infertile couple: > > For a woman and her (partner)--the first number is for a woman, the second in parantheses is for a man--taken from www.marilynglenville.com > > Folic acid 400mcg (0) > Zinc 30mg (30mg) > Selenium 100mcg (100mcg) > Linseed (flaxseed) oil 1000mg (1000mg) > Vitamin B6 up to 50mg (up to 50mg) > Vitamin B12 up to 50mcg (up to 50mcg) > Vitamin E 300-400iu (300-400iu) > Vitamin C 1000mg (1000mg) > Vitamin A up to 2300iu (0) > Manganese 5mg (5mg) > L-arginine (0-for a woman) 1000mg-man > L-carnitine (0-for a woman) 100mg-man > > The other approach to infertility I often utilize is the regulation of the menstrual cycle and therefore the endocrine systemmy approach is based on time-tested traditional Chinese medicine herbal and acupuncture prescriptions. > > Good luck, > > Dasha Trebichavska, M.S., L.Ac. |
