Our matching meeting went well today! I can't describe how nervous we were. Emom is very sweet, quiet, and soft-spoken. Her grandmother is her support and she was present too. We were very shocked but excited to see the biological father there. He seems like such a nice guy who was genuine when he said he was excited for us. It's amazing how much love and respect I have for all of them. I was a little disappointed to hear they do not want visits, only pictures, but I certainly understand and respect their reasons. This little baby has so many people who love him already!

We know she is young and can change her mind. However, we are cautiously optimistic that all will go well. Now we wait for his birth!

Kari - That's so exciting that your meeting went well! Congratulations. And though you and DH were surprised to see the biological father there, it sounds good that he's on board for this adoption to go forward as well. I understand the cautious optimism -but best of luck with the next few weeks, and again Congratulations!

That sounds like it went very well. I am also glad the young lady has a wonderful support system behind her. I am sure as she matures she will change her mind and want to see the baby.

June 25th!! I can't believe it!! Less than a year. I will cross my fingers that all goes well.

Please keep us updated

Kari: Our birthmom specified she wanted only pictures and letters quarterly. After the adoption was finalized she called one day and begged to come visit for his first birthday...so she and her surrogate mom are here now for Joshie's party tomorrow and I should be in bed...nervous energy I guess...been cleaning like mad past few days.

So see my point is she changed her mind after thinking about it for a while...so it could or may not happen...but good luck and let us know when he is born and everything.

Oh, and have fun getting things together and doing your nursery; what is your theme if you have one?

Blessings, Michelle

Kari - this is wonderful. I am so excited for you. Truly it will not be important for your child to have meetings for a few years, maybe around 4 or so. By that time your birthmother may have changed her mind, time has a way of doing that. No worries about that now, you have a baby coming home!!!!!!!
