Infertility treatment or adoption

We are trying infertility treatments and researching adoption. Here is my delima. We have 15K for an adoption/infertility. My insurance covers nothing so we pay out of pocket for everything. We have already spent $1500 on infertility. Do we move forward and focus just on the adoption......or do we try some more infertility treatments.......I don't want our adoption money to dwindle away. Just looking for words of advice and wisdom.

Thanks

Man that is a tough decision- i know how you feel!!
By looking at your sig it looks like you had good luck with clomid after a couple of cycles... Could you maybe try a couple cycles with clomid again? I am not sure how much your cycles cost each or how much they followed you each cycle with US/BW etc. Maybe they would let you try a few with just clomid, opk's and BDing??

It is definitely a hard decision to make... i hope and pray it all works out for you whatever you decide!!

Do you still have that pull to try for another bio child? If you do, keep trying. You don't want to have any regrets. Best of luck!

Well when I got pregnant last time, we had just been matched and I was off clomid. My doctor said that it is possible that clomid regulated my cycles? I have irregular cycles and tend to ovulate late into the cycle.

Each clomid cycle seems to be costing me $1,000....there is so much blood work and two ultrasounds....it is eating up our fund. I plan on skipping a month in between, the month of november. I purchased the clear blue easy fertility monitor to help me know when I ovulate. I guess I will see if it does regulate my cycles. I will talk to my doctor and see if they will skip the baseline ultrasound, seems to be pointless and it costs $300+175 for the doctor visit! If I go on clomid in Dec., Maybe by than I will know if we should move to adoption.

I am just going see what happens......I am praying for a this weekend! Then I won't have to worry about it. I know if I get a I will be crushed and want to give up on the pregnancy thing. I hate the pain of infertility...............

Those cycles DO add up... That sounds like it would cut out alot of the cost eliminating the baseline US and visit fee. Maybe talk to your RE and explain the situation.. maybe they will do your cycle a little different to cut down on cost without lowering your chances?I'm praying for you!!!!!!!!

You will have to decide for yourself when enough is enough. I also have a bio child and I decided that since I have already had the pregnant experience that I would like to adopt. Everyone is different though. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I did 3 rounds of Femara (like Clomid but newer and less side effects) through my OB/GYN and did not do any monitoring at all so all I paid for was the medicine, which was covered under insurance bc it's a drug for women with breast cancer. (Nice to know!).
When I asked my current RE if I could do a round, she said, yes but you have to come in for montitoring, to which I said no thank you, not for that price! So maybe try through your OB?

Dilemma of adoption

Its very difficult to decide. I would recommend to have your own child. Instead of adoption you can opt for the surrogacy program. The information in detail can be found at

Its economical and the best.
