Domestic Adoption

Hi,
I was wondering who here is going through or getting ready to do a domestic adoption. I was wondering what agency you are using. We live in NJ and think we have a few that we are interested in. At first we thought of doing something international, but have shifted our focus to domestic. I would love any advice you have and stories. We are really excited!
Good luck to you all!
Dawn

We have been with a local domestic adoption agency for over a year now. My advice is to try and work with as many agencies as possible. Also call the agencies and talk to someone. Are they warm and friendly or hurried and bothered by you? Have you looked at working with an attorney as well? That's another option. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Fostering to adopt . It has it's stresses as many of the children have psyc problems, due to backgrounds, but if you would like to check it out talk to your local Dept of Child and Fam Services.

Hi

Oh that is so great! We're so anxious to get things underway now. I am just afraid of something going too wrong that's all. I know the process will be up and down, but as long as we have another child in the end to add to our family that's all that matters. I want to make sure that we choose the right one. My feeling is that I do feel comfortable with AA, so I guess I'll go with it unless I hear anyting too bad. Good luck to you all and please let me know how it all goes!

Hello! We're going through Bethany Christian Services. We've known multiple families who have gone through them and have had great experiences! We're done with our home study, waiting to take a required class and then showing our profile! Good luck to everyone!
