Hey, nice not being the only one doing this for a 3rd time, hopefully this will be it for both of us.

I am on BCPs and should have my ER Feb. 2nd if all goes well with my Prolactin levels, etc..

I am on to adoption if this fails, but I was just reading about embryo adoption, did you ever look into this

Russia, adoption.com

For the person looking into Russia, not many agencies are acredited in Russia right now. If you go to adoption.com, then international, then Russia, they would know what agencies are currently working there. I highly recommend the site, they are great.

Hi Sarah, I see you are on 3 waiting lists. Does that mean with three different agencies?

hi ladies! We are thinking about it. We only have so much to spend on ivf and last cycle didnt even work out. I am just so anxious to have a family.... adoption seems like alot to start over with too though... paperwork, home study, etc...
Regardless of successful ivf or not.. we will adopt someday!!!

So you can be on several waiting lists at once??

Yes, I am on three different waiting lists for different agencies. Depending on the agency you can be on different waiting lists. Some make you sign a contract to only work with them. You will also have to be careful because if you are on more than one list sometimes they each will want to do their own homestudy so that will be more money, you also will want to make sure they won't want lots of money upfront. Most agencies have you pay once you are actually placed.

Jen- We adopted in the US. We adopted one child in our home town (Tacoma). This was a private adoption through networking. And we adopted two children from Chicago. The first child was through a facilitator in Migh. and the second was her older brother three years later. The third child was possible because we had an open adoption and the birthmother was unable to care for her 7 year old child and asked us to parent him. We continue to have a great relationship with her.
In the beginning we were working with Bethany. We had them prepare our homestudy. We did have a placement with them, but the birthmom changed her mind (this was a very good thing for her. I was happy for her!) One month later we had our DS because we let everyone we knew know about our desires and through friends we got our placement.
Private adoptions CAN happen! I would be very cafefull about putting all your eggs in one basket. Expose yourself to as many options as possible.
