Tulsa, Oklahoma??

Is there anyone here that has gone to any of the fertility treatment clinics in Tulsa, Oklahoma?

My husband and I are considering making an initial appointment, but from the searches I have done, there are 3 clinics in Tulsa and I would feel much better if I went to one that was recommended.

We have no idea what to expect, and not even sure if we will actually go through with fertility treatments, as much as I'd like to.

My husband is hesitant because of our age. I am 41 and he is 46, but everyone that knows us say that we look and act 5-10 years younger than our actual ages, so to me that's a good thing! I've tried to tell him that instead of trying to get PG naturally that we should try fertility treatments in hopes that they will work exactly for that reason, because of our age. Who knows how long it would take to get PG naturally, chances are much better if we use fertility treatments.

Or maybe I'm just dreaming. But I would at least like to go to an initial visit, and to find out how much it would cost, because I have no idea.

Hi Linda!

There are actually a lot of people on here from the Tulsa area. We have a OK Group on the IVF board.

My husband and I live in NWA and have actually been to both the Tulsa Fertility Center to visit with Dr. Prough and are now using Dr. Bundren. We have really liked both of them, but have decided to use Dr. Bundren because, like most people, we don't have Infertility Insurance and Dr. Bundren is on the ARC plan (lower rates). Turns out, Dr. Bundren has the 3rd best success rate of all doctors in the country too (you can find this info on the CDC's website). He does his IVF in OKC at The Bennett Clinic.

It's never too late to want a baby...book an appointment soon! What are you waiting for?

Best of Luck!

Hello!

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I do have infertility insurance, but on the unlucky side of things, I just got layed off yesterday. The company has layed off about 75% of it's workforce in the last 6-8 months so I kind of knew it was coming, but it's still a bummer, and with all the lay offs and company closings I think it's going to be very hard to find a job at the salary that I had, so I don't know what this is going to do to our baby plans. We were going to try the "natural" way until September and if it didn't work then visit a fertility clinic.

Linda, I used to live in Springdale, AR and went to Tulsa Fertility Center and Dr. Prough was my doctor. I have several friends that have gone to that clinic as well and were successful in getting pregnant through IVF and IUI. I would have continued with them but we moved to Alabama. I don't think you'll go wrong with them. Good luck.

Linda, another thing I liked about the clinic and Dr Prough was that I saw him at every visit and he did his own ultrasounds. I liked that he saw first hand what was going on. I don't know if he does all the ultrasounds when you do IVF but at least for all the initial evaluation you do see him instead of his nurse.

hi, I live in tulsa and I use Dr Bundren. He is here but he partners with the bennett fertility institute in OKC. He does all the ER and ETs there but everything else is done in his office here.
The bennett fertility insititute has the 3rd highest sucess rates of any clinic in the US according to the 2007 statistics.
I started with Tulsa Fertility Center but for me personally they didnt suit my needs. I felt like a number, a check and and the sucess rates were 19% lower than Dr Bundrens. However, thats from my own experience. I do not forcemy opinions on anyone and have known woman who have used both offices and had beautiful pregnancies

price is different for everyone. TFC was going to charge 15k. Dr B is charging 12k. We do not have insurance that covers any fertility, not even medication

I also go to the TFC and I use Dr Blackwell. I like working with her and I feel she is meeting my needs for now... you can't really say what holds for the future. It is more convienient for me to go to the Tulsa Fertility Clinic and my OB/GYN referred me to Dr Blackwell.

Good Luck on your journey and I am sorry you got laid off that seems to be happening a lot lately.
