I decided to move on to IVF after two failed IUIs. My RE suggested that we move on based on our personal situation. Cost is a big factor. My insurance last year did not cover anything so everything was out of pocket. I'm changing insurance this year and have fertility coverage so decided to skip additional IUI's and go to IVF. If I had to pay out of pocket my RE was going to charge $10,000 not including meds. My meds run me about $1000-$3000 so it would have definitely been expensive without insurance help.

Hi, it really is individual, but from my case i went straight for the ivf after 1 try on iui to save money. we had a son naturally then tried for 3yrs no luck so tried iui with a so saved the money and went straight for ivf with a on our first try then been trying for 2yrs with no luck so did ivf again and a so going to try ivf again. good luck and don't stress to much time is on our side

Hello, I'm 37 and on my 2nd round of IUI. Friday was 2 weeks since injection, my beta test was 2. So now I'm not sure what to do.... How many rounds can a person go through and keep stable? Thinking about ICSI but the cost and then if it doesn't work then what? Distressed!!

This is my first time on this tread and it looks really cool! I did tow rounds of iui with injectible drugs. First round resulted in a chem preg and the secons round nothing. I am staring ivf, taking the BCP right now, before I begin the many other drugs. I am 39 and DH is 36.

As others said, it really is a personal decision. Insurance coverage, yours and DH reproductive health, your clinic, etc. all play a key factor. If you do begin ivf, it is a very common procedure with the highest ART success rate. But, it is a lot in terms of time, meds., procedures. Be sure you are ready. I don't want to scare you, just trying to be realistic.

Hi this is my first time on this post. I had iui#4 on 7/21. iui1 and iui2 both chemical pregnancy, iui3 nothing, iui4 on the 2ww and going crazy. I don't know how many iui I will do on Clomid 100mg.

My cycle may start with pink for a day or 2 and somtimes it just starts. I always have weard feelings in my belly... can i here some success stories based on timing? I am planning to start Clomid in a couple weeks ... I already ordered my meds but but my insurance is changing this mth so I'll be doing this on my own since ill be no longer covered...
