Basal Temp Fluctuations - up a whole degree!

I have always had a low body temp. In high school I tracked it for science class (around 1989) - 96.0 was the norm. If I had 98 - i was sick, if it was 99 I was really sick.

My first two attempts at tracking for conception was in 2006 my body temp never went over 97.90, 97.70 was the common temp.

I am tracking again. I started before getting off the pill to get back into the habit - 98.0, 98.20, 98.20, 97.23, 98.10, 98.55, - Day one of my period I am back to 97.53.

I felt no illness - I did start a new thermometer this cycle (it is also registering back in the 97s now too), I am on Metformin and vitamins.

Could Metformin or hormone adjustments be increasing my regular body temp?

Any thoughts - should I be concerned?
Thanks for your input!
