Dropped .6 Degrees - Need to know possible reasons

My temp has been 96.6 Degrees when I wake up my entire cycle so far, Except when I ovulated It hit 97.0 and then went back down. Now I'm about 4 days from my period and it suddenly dropped from 96.6 to 96.0

Why could this be?

hmmm, I'm not sure but that happened to me last month as well. Maybe someone will have some insight for both of us. I am fairly "new again" at this charting thing so I am still learning all of this, again

Yeah, I'm new to all of this. I haven't learned the charting part as well so much as just, I write down the temp every morning on a piece of paper. I haven't learned all the details of what to do yet.

well, I think the most important thing to know is your temp and cm texture. I printed off a fancy ovualtion tracking chart with a legend key and still am confused at what I am looking at/for! Lol
I did chart temps for a short time when we were ttc #1 but the doc referred me to a specialist because we had been trying for a year and found a fibroid...went straight to IUIs w/Clomid. This time around, I am trying to actively chart all I can and avoid the IUIs if possible; I started tracking my cycle because I've had horrible headaches again, hormonal. we will see....

I think my biggest problem with trying to understand how to chart is most of what I read has used acronyms and such to explain some of the common words. But my problem is that I don't know the common words so I can't understand the acronyms all the time! I need to find a list of acronyms for charters ^_^ lol.

I was just read something though, that confused me on how I've always counted the days of my period. It says your day one is the first day of your period starting, I always counted the day it ended as day one and then 28 days out from there, I always started exactly on time. Now my mind is blown cause I always thought my cycle was 28 days, So I guess this means it isn't?

You sound just like me! lol
I always thought my periods were regular as well and I did the same thing you did when counting, but that was when I was on the pill. When i went off the pill, I still thought I had regular cycles until I started counting "correctly".
My cycle ranges from 25-34days!! very hard to track!
Also, the first day of your cycle is the first full day of flow, so if you start your period this afternoon, it wouldn't be day1 until tomorrow! I never knew that either until my OB told me! geez, the things we think we know!

I definitely did not know that about half day vs. full day. That's nuts! That means my cycle is 31-32 days. My period is never longer than 4 days, Normally just 3. So wow. Been doing it wrong forever! My world is completely turned upside down.

What's weird, is even though I didn't know exactly how to track it, It's still pretty regular. Before I ever started tracking I already knew when I ovulated because of how it felt. Like a big bruise on either left or right side. Always is exactly 12 days before my period starts.

I'm glad to know all of this though!

wow, just realizing that the "bruised" feeling must be ov pains for me as well, never realized the two were related....just thought I was stretching my side by carrying my 19mos. old! lol

You should sign up for fertilityfriend.com. It charts everything (temp, symptoms, meds, etc...) for you and has oodles of information. It makes it easy to learn everything you ever wanted to know about your cycle and charting.
