dOES YOUR bbt START DROPPING WHEN U HAVE THE SURGE?
Whwn is it that Im to see higher or lower temps?

Normally, your temp will drop when AF is expected. Sometimes you might see flucuations in temp, so just keep taking it every morning and see if it goes back up. I have heard of an "implantation dip"-where your temp drops around the time of impantaion. But, I don't think it's really a proven thing. Looking back I did see a slight dip around the time of implantation the one time I got a bfp. Just keep temping and look at the overall pattern of your temps. Good luck!!

BTW-have you read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It will tell you everything you ever want to know about bbt and other fertility signs. I highly recommend it!

"some" people have a slight dip right before ovulation. i know i've read some books where they say that your temps go up the day you ovulate, but in truth, i think it's probably the day after you ovulate b/c the progesterone is what makes your temps go up and it kicks in after ovulation. i would think that since your lh surge can be 24-48 hrs before ovulation that you probably don't have a dip right then. i can't wait for the day when i get to stop taking my temp every morning!

I'm sure I've said this before, but I stopped taking my bbt after about a year of charting. It was making me soooooooo crazy and it didn't tell me anything except that I did ovulate. I found that using opks and fertility signs(cm, cervical position) keep me much more sane. In fact, I've become so aware of my body, I knew I'd be getting my surge today, and sure enough, the opk confirmed it this morning!!!

I'm going to plug the book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility again-it really helped me. It does talk a lot about bbt, but I learned so much about fertility.

I've only been charting for one cycle but I appear to have the pre-O dip. Also, it shows me ovulating the day before my temp spike which I believe is also what it says in Taking Charge of Your Fertility (that you O'd the day before your temp rise which is why BBT only works to tell you when you did O and NOT when you will/are. stussys_angel Ovulation Charts
