Hi girls, I hope I am not intruding. I am also 'in a rut'. I am pre- IVF cycle 2 in January/February. We tried naturally this month and because of my endo and tubal scarring, it is really unlikely. I almost wished I hadn't tried since it just gives me enough hope not to want to exercise or drink a glass of wine. Anyhow, AF would be coming this weekend or early next week. Like I said, it is just likely enough to throw my life out of whack. At least I still dream and hope. IF hasn't beaten that out of me yet.

You could never be intrusive, you have been nothing but helpful to everyone on this board. I hear you with the au natural. We have been doing au natural all year and I feel constant guilt about have a glass or 3 of wine every now and then. I don't do it when there is a possibility of implantation, but I read some article about how you shouldn't drink at all for three months before TTC, because you could damage the eggs that are developing. OMG, as if we aren't completely putting our lives on hold anyway. Then again, pretty much everyone I know who has gotten PG w/out a problem has drank too much at some point before they found out they were pg.

As for exercise I started running again because I just was so sick of not doing anything. I can't imagine that it could really interfere too much. Of course we have had a couple of snow storms up here in Wisco so I think I am going to start power yoga instead.

I really think this next IVF is going to be it for you, just a few more weeks until you are shooting yourself up with those fun frugs again. BTW are you doing FET or fresh, I saw from your sig, you were too please with the frosties?

Hey girls - just thought I would check in....

Anastasia - still no AF...not sure where she is...I can't tell you how many bathroom checks I have done in the past two days....not that I want her but I am to afraid yet to POAS....I have been feeling sick in the mornings but I think it might be from PMS...I keep telling myself to hope and then I think - I am crazy to think that it will happen! I really HATE IF!!!!

Josee - I am right there with you....I have been avoiding any kind of wine "just in case" or caffeine! Glad to hear that IF hasn't beaten out your hopes and dreams....it is a pretty crazy roller coaster ride isn't it....

Well, I better go do another bathroom check!!!

I believe it was Nov. 15th....who knows....I keep waiting for it to show up because I just don't think it would happen....I just hate the waiting (but I am to chicken to take a test - I can't deal with a negative again -you know what I mean???)

Sandi, I think you are pg. Ok, so you did an OPK or something that said you O'ed on November 15th? I know you are scared about taking a test and there is a possibility that you didn't O, I guess, but if you O'ed, then you are pg.

You should POAS, I simlpy cannot enjoy my weekend until you have your answer. Ok, maybe that was a little strong, but I am for you.

Hi Sandi, you must be going nuts! You should do whatever you want but I would POAS simply because on the very off chance I was pregnant (i've got tubal issues), I'd want be monitored properly from the beginning if I was pregnant. I understand not wanting to be disappointed.

I actually haven't been that good about not drinking wine. I am French you see. After trying so long, I cannot give up wine that long. I will have to do something about it soon though. I will not have any starting after Christmas dinner. My ER/ET won't be til the end of January. I'll be basically cycling with you too Anastasia. I'll go decaf when I get my next period. And, yes, I'll be doing a fresh cycle. I've already picked up acupuncture for this cycle. I love that.

Anastasia, it is so cool that you run. I used to in high school. Now I barely do anything. I was a smoker from 17-33. I kicked that addiction 17 months ago. I am trying to mildly get into exercising again by going to my club and powerwalking. I gained 35 pounds by quitting smoking and doing IVF injectibles. Holy Moly. What is power yoga? Sounds cool. And I hear you on the snowstorms. I am just south of the state line from you.
This weekend is a mild one for me. Going to my mom's tonight since my little neices are there. I went and got all sorts of crafts. They are 1.5 and 3.5. I am going to treat them how to make ornaments and make a glitter tree tonight. I'll be back for our crepes breakfast on Sunday morning at my mom's to play with them and put up my parent's tree.

Your weekend sounds very lovely with your family. The crepes sounds lovely as well. It reminds me of the ratatouille crepes I had in St. Remy de Provence a couple of years ago. The best ever! Where is your family from in France?

Congrats on quitting smoking that is fantastic. My DH quit 3 months ago and he is finally really feeling good about it. As for the wine, I am so happy to hear that someone else can't just quit drinking a bit of vino altogether. I just can't do it. I mean tonight my parents are coming over for dinner with four bottles to have a tasting. I can't say no, I mean that would be rude, right? (LOL) I will try to monitor though.

Anastasia, my family is from the Lorraine region (Vosges). My grandparents and a few aunts and uncles live there still. A bunch of cousins live in Paris. And one set of them lives in Cannes. I grew up spending every summer in France. I went to work in Paris for 5 years a few years after college. I still try to go back every year since I am so close with all of my family there. My parents, my brother and family, and Dh and I all live 10 minutes apart in the suburbs of Chicago. Family is the best thing in the whole entire world. Add wine and kids giggling and you are in heaven.

Hey girls - it is absolutely rude to not drink the wine! I have a friend and he works at a winery so we sample several bottles of wine when we get together...he gets the good stuff for free so that makes it fun for me! (my DH doesn't drink anything at all so I always have a driver!) His wife won't drink it either so more for he and I...we are going there next week for a little "christmas dinner"(any excuse for wine and good food) so I will defintely test before then. I just go back and forth....I start to think maybe and then I think I am crazy for thinking it...AF will probably hit me today...but my friend told me tomorrow at noon she will be at my house with test in hand and I will take it (I haven't said to much to my DH - I don't want him to get high expectations)I quite honestly think it will be negative...I was just thinking...I had been sick with a cold a few weeks ago so maybe that is why I am late...

Well tomorrow night we are going to Napa for dinner with a group of friends (and then to someone's house for dessert! YUMMY) and then Sunday we are going to a neighbors house for an "Victorian Open House" - not sure what that means or what to wear but should be fun!

I think that making crafts with your nieces sounds like so much fun! I love doing that stuff....

I am so sorry that AF showed up. This whole process is so frustrating.

Josee - I hope you had a great weekend with your family. I have never been to the Lorraine region, only Provence, which I loved. Peut-etre la prochaine fois!

Well, I had some rather unfortunate news yesterday. I went to see a new RE in Gurnee, IL at Advanced Fertility and apparently the surgery I had to repair my uterine septum last year was not as successful as my old RE said. There is still a septum there and I need a second surgery. So I will be going in at the beginning of January to get that done. So my first IVF is now tentatively scheduled for March.

Life is crazy!

I'm sorry Anastasia....that is a bummer...now what to they do for repairing your uterine septum??? That sounds painful....

Sarah - I hope AF waits to show up....I hate getting it on vacation and it is inevitble....the first time I went to Hawaii with one of my friends she and I both got it and I was early (which never happens) and she was late (which also never happens)...it's like "she" knows you are on vacation....

Sandi - Basically they put me under general and then put a catheter up my cervix into my uterus with some tiny scissors and cut away at the tissue, then they put a balloon in my uterus which I have to have in for a week to make sure it all heals correctly. The last one I had I also had to have a laparoscopy, this should be somewhat less invasive (yes, really that is possible!).

Sarah - I hope AF shows up for you soon so you can get started on medicated cycle.

Wow....Anastasia - does that hurt??? I guess you do what you gotta do...I remember saying there is no way I would ever give myself shots and yet I have... There are so many invasive things that I have put up with I never thought I would do and I think that is probably the same for everyone....

OK...I am debating about a friendship I have with a girl...we have been good friends since college and we were in each others weddings. Well she got pregnant (not because she wants kids but her DH "deserves" them and he is a complete jerk) Well she called to tell me her "good news" and said that maybe now her father will buy her a house....well she called Sunday night and sure enough - her dad is buying them a house (she still gets an allowance since they don't make enough money to pay their bills - and they can't afford their apartment) She also said that they will ask her DH's dad to pay for stuff inside the house and his mom can't help and that is selfish and they aren't talking to her...I was listening to her and was really quite disgusted with her. My DH and I work very hard to pay for our house and bills and IF treatments and anything else we do. Nobody gives us anything and that is the way we like it (although if somebody wanted to pay for a month of IF treatment I wouldn't be opposed - but I would never ask) So I just don't know what to do....it is very frustrating to talk to her. All of her other friends have stopped talking to her due to this reason and I am all she has left...what do you girls think???
