Bilateral Hydro???

I had a sono done and they found both of my tubes had Hydo in them. My RE wanted me to speak with my OB to talk about burning the ends of the tubes where they meet at the uterus b/c he feels it greatley lowers my chances in a successful IVF cycle. When I met with my OB she was not comfortable with preforming they surgery. She pretty much said she will not do it, and that she has not heard any evidence that it has a negative effect. All the research I have read on it has said "they believe" which is not conclusive to me either. After searching forums I have found people who have concieved through IVF with Hydro's after their RE's suggested tubal occlusion and they decided against it. I'm asking for any personal experiences or advice for what I should do, I know my tubes are pretty much useless (however have also found women who have concieved naturally with hydro's) but I still like to hold out hope, and Im only 26 and I feel permantley seperating my tubes might be a little quick for that decision.....PLEASE HELP!!!!

I know for some women thier tubes are like a lifeline to their future. Let me just say from personal experience, I had NO problem letting mine go!

My 1st IVF cycle was perfect in every way and the RE almost guaranteed it was going to take. To everyone's surprise it failed Well after having that 1st failed cycle I needed to know, WHY? Why did this so perfect cycle not take. I just knew there had to be a reason.
My RE decided to then do a lap, where she found bilateral-hydro's. I had given her the ok before hand, if she found hydro's to remove them, knowing that would be my best shot at my next IVF.

Well, she was right, my 2nd cycle was also great, and I now have a beautiful 6month old to show for it.

I truely believe this is a personal decision you have to be comfortable with. However, keep in mind your goal is to have a baby, and if you have hydro's that may never happen on it's own or with IVF.

Hydro's fluid will leak into the uterus making it a hostile enviroment for your embies, and kill them before they can implant. This is why they say you should remove them to do IVF.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

scarred tubes or bilateral hydro

I have seen two different doctors. Both military because of my husband, One was an air force doctor another an army. I got an HSG done in June, saw my OB in late August. She told me that I needed to see a specialist to get the surgery to remove the scar tissue in both of my tubes. She scheduled the appointment with the Army doctor who had the facilities to do the surgery, when my husband and I met with him several weeks ago, he said that I had bilateral hydros. I have another appointment with my originial OB to figure out what is going on and to try and see a NON military doctor. My husband and I have been trying for 2 years and I am in my early 20s so SOMETHING is wrong in there with my tubes. The radiologist who preformed my HSG also said that i had blocked tubes from scarring.

The army doctor said that he would try and contact the radiologist to measure the size of the hydros, if they were small enough we could remove them otherwise they would remove my entire tubes to allow for IVF.

I feel that I am way too young to be removing my tubes and that his diagnosis was a little premature.

Any advice on what to do next?
