One blocked tube...any chance?

Hello ladies,

I had an HSG done yesterday, just to have one. I requested it from my RE because I had done two IUI's with ds. I wanted to make sure everything was ok. Lo and behold, I have a blockage in one tube! I just can't believe. Here I thought everything was ok with me and no. I thought we were dealing with just my DH. Now it's me too! Ugh.. it took me a awhile to come to terms with not having my DH's biological child and now this!

On the good side, I do ovulate. I don't have PCOS. My uterus and other tube looked great! Dye immediately came out from the other tube. I have no idea what could have caused the tube to be blocked. I have had no surgeries, trauma. I have had only one intimate partner. So what could it be? Do I have a chance of concieving with just one opened tube?

I was telling my neighbor about my appointment yesterday and I did not know that when she was 15-years old, she was in a car accident. She had trauma to her reproductive organs and had to have an ovary and part of her fallopian tube removed. She has 4 children!!! Wow, that gives me hope!

Hi, I am actually new to these boards and you are my first post, anyway I also have one tube open but I have ashermans syndrome. Not sure if you know about this condition, it is caused from d & c's usually right after delivery or miscarriage. I actually had to have two of them after my son was born in 2001 which caused the ashermans, my uterus was so scarred that I barely would even have a period. It took 5 years of seeing doctors and specialist to figure out what was wrong with me. Not sure if that helps you, but I have heard that all you need is one good tube now it just depends on when you ovulate on that side.
