The cannulation procedure is also know as recanalization. This youtube video explains the procedure I am getting on March 10th to unblock.

That's great news! Congrats! I was wondering what type of fertile aid did you use?

So what I found out is that the HSG has a 70% error rate. My OB didnt even research possible false positives.

I got good and pissed and started fighting to get pregnant. I sent the HSG xrays to my tubal reversal surgeon (out of state) for his opinion. I started talking to him about re-doing the surgery. He told me about the error rates with the HSG and told me that if I wasnt PG in 4 months we would do another HSG and the surgery if needed (FOR FREE!).
I found out that the HSG can cause your tubes to spasm and clamp shut around the beginning of the tubes. Especially if not done correctly!

I used fertile Aid - controlled my uterine PH - and charted my cycles on fertility friend. I was pregnant within 4 months. I'm 7 months along with my gift from GOD!

Best wishes to you in your journey!!!

SO I have had a CRAZY coiuple of days! On Monday 3/7 I was still bleeding, thought it was unusually long af, so I took an HPT and it was ! BUT then went through 2 rounds of bloodwork last week and found out I had an ectopic pregnancy. I had to have an injection of methotrexate which led me to miscarry.
Obviously my tubal recanalization was canceled. I am so down in the dumps and broken hearted! Eerything is on hold now for a couple of months to get my body back to normal! for us all!

Kez29: That would concern me too if I wasn't getting pregnant after the tubal procedure. Did your RE tell you how long, if any time, it would take to heal after the procedure? Maybe you should try IUI if your husband has low sperm. On my first IUI, I got pregnant, (although it was ectopic I still got BFP) IUI is not invasive, just a little bit uncomfortable during the 5 minutes it takes. If I were you I would try that before IVF. My RE doesn't want me to get the tubal recanalisation anymore...we are skipping the tubes altogether and doing IVF in June.HE said that was the fastest way to get pregnant and my best option so I am trusting him. I am excited but nervous at the same time! YIKES!

Heart

I am now into month 5 so getting a little worried now, my DH's sperm count is still 13 million and the doctors assured us this is enough to get us pregnant! I think they are just fobbing me off so i have used the clear blue digital ovulating kit this month again if nothing happens this month then we will need to seek other advice its dragged out to long now i just want an answer an end put to it all or at least a way forward so i know whats going on its so frustrating trying to stay positive all the time but i am sure we will get there in the end! Thanks for your reply its nice hearing other peoples views and getting advice. IUI will be considered if we do not get any more help from OB or doctors...I hope you have alot of good luck with the IUI and hope to hear good news from you soon.

I wouldn't get discouraged just yet. According to a few research articles that I have read on Fallopian Tube Recanalization (I'm currently considering this procedure vs. a second round of IVF), the majority of women that have success achieved conception between months 3 and 9.... I'll keep my fingers crossed though! I hope it all works out for you.

Hi

I woul agree with you cos really HSG don't give 100% result.I was confirmed that i have blocked tubes by my gynea but i was referred to another gynea by a friend and he told me that he would have to perform a diagnostic lap before he confirms that my tubes are blocked. So waiting cos its goin to be in a week or two.

I know this post is a little older, but I found out I have hydrosalpinx on the left side and my husband has a low sperm count/motility this summer. My doctor advised against any surgery to correct the tube. She said that the risks are too high. That surgery can result in scarring to the other tube, higher risk of ectopic and doesn't always work anyways.
We are hoping that next month we Ovulate on the right side, because we keep O-ing on the left, and can have our first IUI.
Anyone with similar situations that had success?
