I have a question about the HSG exam. I had my exam done on Friday and it was painful as crap. They told me not to have sex for 24 hours. I followed the directions. Last night me and my fiance had sex. But this morning I woke up with blood all over; is that normal? I didn't feel pain during sex or after so I am wondering why I am bleeding? Should I call my doctor? Could have the exam brought down my period? I had my period from the end of November to the beginning of December.
Sorry if this is too much information. I am just a little worried. If anyone has any input I would love to hear it. Cheryl |

I know what I had my HSG there was light spotting for a day or two and then that was it. Seems like you BD'ing may have just brought your dreaded
. I'd call the RE in the am just to make sure if you honestly don't feel that it is . Probably nothing to worry about though. Hope you had a good weekend?! I go to injection class on Thurs ... Yeah !

Hey
Hello dndtaylor,
I am not worried about it. I figure that it was time to get it anyway. I wish you the best of luck with the injectables. Are you scared? I think I would be. I am sure that everything will turn out great. At the end it is all worth it. Cheryl |

I have been battling with pcos for three-four years and found out last july my tubes were blocked (both of them) the Dr. I was seeing at the time pushed ivf so hard and I was so stressed and mad that this could happen to me, then I got a second opinion and he is wonderful he did laproscopic surg. on me and both my tubes are fine. working on ovulation now. Good luck you will have your ups and downs but everything happens for a reason.

Thank you for the kind words. I was so stressed when the doctor first told me about the blocked tube. Then I came here and got a lot of encouraging words. I am hoping that one tube might be enought to get BFP. If not then I might have to get the Lap Surg. Was it painful?
I know that at times I feel like giving up. Then there are times that I feel confident and full of hope. I have to realize that I am not the only one going through these issues. I wish you luck with your ovulation. That is what I am hoping for. Keep me updated on your progress. Thanks again, Cheryl

I want to share my story with you. I suffer also from PCOS sever, during one exam they told me I could be the poster child for PCOS. Anyway...i tried for 8 years to get pregnant going from doctor to doctor and all they could offer me was higer doses of clomid, which was not working. I changed employers and chose Kaiser coverage not because what they offered just that the cost of health insurance was cheaper. Anyway i started seeing an OBGYN doc and started telling her I want to get pregnant. So she started me on Clomid again!! Let me tell you I thought that no one was going to listen to me. By some miracle I got pregnant but 2 month later misscarried it. I was devistated..So i went back to my doctor and she finally decided to refer me to Kaiser in Sacramento, They have an infertility clinic there. So i went having hope again. (Sorry this is getting to be long winded) So i went But i had another obsticale to hurdle...I found out I was diabetic ontop of PCOS!! WHAT ELSE COULD STAND IN MY WAY!!! But I kept my hopes and prayers going! I went through all the information classes they offer and I had to get my sugars in check and finally finally i was able to start the infertility process. It was a strain on me, my marriage, and my faith, but i kept hopes and prayers up. Finally after a year of doing the injections and exams each and every month I got pregnant! But not with some kind of complications....They said I was pregnant with 2 but were the complications came in - I started bleeding heavy and thought that i was going to loose this pregnancy again! well i did but didnt. I lost one but through Gods and doctors care one was saved. I am happy to say I HAVE my baby girl! well here i am 2 1/2 years later and i want another baby. Unfortunately I cant get pregnant the natural way so I have to go through the process of seeing the Doctors at Kaiser in Sacramento again. So I had my HSG exam yesterday and they told me I have one tube blocked...so again i find myself being a diabetic, PCOS and one tube blocked and 37yrs old! I havent started crying yet but the feeling is there. I have a doctors appointment in next week to review all my exams and find out the results and hopefully they will tell me I can still go through the process.
So I guess what im trying to say is dont loose hope even though the feeling is so overwhelming...My prayers are with you all. And spouses be there for your wife when times get rough, because they will need you to be strong and give them that sholder to cry on!! Tell them how much you love them and that they mean the world to you!! ~~~~~~~~ LU Last edited by finallybabylove : 01-20-2007 at 11:49 AM. |

I spent about $500 on the HSG (Port., OR). I have to say of all the procedures I've had, including surgery, it was the most painful and unconfortable. I also bled a lot and ended up staining my new chair at work (I got the chair that day!)!! I called the clinic and they said it was normal. I stopped bleeding the next day or so. Every day I am at work, I am reminded of the HSG and am glad that I don't have to do it again!

Hi, my name is Pilar. I am new to the site. I came acroos your posts and realized you and I are very much alike. I, like you, have PCOS and after doing an HSG yesterday, was told I have a closed left fallopian tube. I was beginning to feel a sense of hope and well felt terrible that my first step into taking some outside help in getting pregnant (taking the HSG) was a negative one. I am also a teacher, I teach 4th grade. Today when I went to work and had the kids hug me and tell me they missed me helped me feel a little better but worst at the same time. I want to be a mother so bad. It hurts so much, and its so scary. Something so natural..that many everyday take advantage of.. is so hard for some of us. So what I mean is, you are not alone. It still sucks, and doesn't make it any better or worst to know u are not alone but some how it offers some consolement. I too sit here and cry. I don't like my DH to see me like this. So I try to get it over with b4 he comes home from work. Good luck with all your treatments, I truthfully wish u the best. |

hi all these gracious ladies out there. I'm new to this site. was just reading through. Even I've the same 2 conditions PCOS and blocked left tube. TTC for 3 yrs. Actually both my tubes were blocked, which was noticed last month through an HSG and subsequently right tube was cleared through a lapro. Had my first IUI, but got my AF today. my doc has told me to come for the next round of IUI. I too am confused, could any of you tell me even if there is a chance for me, what should I go for? would IVF be a better option for me? my husbands count was low, but now has improved and is alomst normal.
PRayers for all of you.... ![]() |

I found out 2 years ago that my both tubes are blocked and I have hydrosalpinx... Doing another HSG on July 6,2009 with my Infertility Doc (performing himself) trying to open them... if not successful...probably will go for IVF...I wish I can be 100% sure about it...but I am not.I feel like I too young to do it...
