Is clomid right for me????

Ok, here is our situation.

We just did our 3rd IUI this week. But so far our timing has been a little off cause I'm ovulating pretty quick after our surge. Next month we are going to try the IUI the day of the surge to try to catch it. Our only infertility issue is low sperm count. But my hubby is on clomid and vitamins and it is starting to improve so I'm hopeful that next month it will be even better.

We have a son that is 2 that we conceived through IUI before- so I know it can work for us. IFV is not an option because of finances so we are planning on continuing IUI.

So- finally to my question. We are currently doing natural cycle IUI's because I ovulate regularly. Should I consider going on clomid even though I already ovulate? Would this give me more eggs? My RE said she will try it with me, but is not sure because it may thin my lining? And since I already ovulate she is not sure it is worth it. However, I want to increase my chances if that is possible.

Also, with clomid (a low dose) how many eggs do you drop? Do they all drop simulateously - just allowing more targets for the sperm? Or is there timing a little spaced out allowing a greater time frame for conception?

I'd really love your opinions here!

My RE wanted to do Clomid AND an IUI straight out the gate. I held off and wanted to do just clomid for a couple months to see what happened. This was my first cycle on Clomid at only 50mg and based on my ultrasound last week of my follies, we saw three huge ones. Now, whose to say any of those will take, but it was very encouraging to see! If the hubby has a low sperm count, I would say it wouldn't hurt for you to take Clomid. It's cheap and anything to help the situation along right? I haven't had any side effects of the Clomid but there are some known ones, it varies person to person. Go for it girl, what have you got to lose?
