Hi Again

No I don't use OPK. I know I'm O because I get a real tender tummy. I would expect to O between now and Wednesday if the "clomid calculator" is correct.

What did DH say when you were crying before BD??? I'm trying really really hard not to cry in front of DH cause he'll think I'm an emotion wreck and then he'll want to fix it and that will make it so much worse.

No certain way, doc just said cd 12-14. Which, next time I see him I am telling him he is CRAZY if he thinks that his patients are only doing it for 3 days. HA!

It is just hard for us because I work nightshift as an RN and he does day shift at the hospital as a soon to be RN. That and we do have kids in the house. I am raising his kids from a previous marriage. So, it is hard to be ready just because the time is ticking.

My husband is a saint. We have a running joke with friends that I am the husband, because I am less emotional. He is just very supportive. I think he thought it was pretty silly when I was crying. There was a lot of "oh honey" and later a lot of " if you don't stop we will never be able to finish this!!" JEEZ

SO, as everyone knows, I have been getting negative OPK. Well, this morning I am having pain, (enough to wake me up but not double me over) on both sides. I thought oh great must be . NOPE. Still not here, and I continue to be crampy bilaterally. Hopefully this is a good sign!!!

Just an update...

I went for my follicle study today on cycle day 11 and there were five measureing 8mm, and my lining was only 1.7mm! Not so good...This was on 50mg days 3-7. So, today she is hitting me again with 100 mg of Clomid days 11-15, and estradiol for 4 days (starting Saturday) to thicken my lining. I am & that it works this month. I want my !! If I don't get pregnant this cycle next month I will start out on 100 mg. of Clomid. She said I have lazy ovaries. If Clomid doesn't work then she wants to try Femera (spelling?) Anyone heard of being hit twice with Clomid in one month?

Hi Ruby2shoes2

Ohhh what a great DH sounds like mine !

Your pain could be O pain. That's how I get with mine. I describe my O pain like an AF pain.

Well i am CD 12. I had my ultrasound Today I will give myself the Ovidrel Injection Tomorrow then I will be in my TWW. She said if i dont get pregnant they want to do another round of Clomid. I thought this was going to be my last round. . So i am trying to be very hopeful and positive that this is our month. . I came across some prayers and scriptures to read to keep me positive that i will conceive. .

First Clomid/Ovidrel/IUI cycle

Hi everyone, I hope it's ok that I'm joining mid-way through the cycle. I also started Clomid this month (Oct 24) days 5-9 of my cycle. I did not notice any obvious side effects from the Clomid (yet). I also gave myself the Ovidrel Hcg injection last night. I have had a bad headache today; it that one of the side effects? Tomorrow morning we go to the dr to have first IUI.

What day do I start counting my 2ww? Is today day 1 since I had the shot last night or do I start counting tomorrow after the IUI?

Also, should I still use the opk even though I had the hcg injection? I thought I read somewhere that the opk only detects LH, so any other hormones should not affect the results, right? Or does the Hcg shot cause LH to surge? I guess I"m confused about what exactly the hcg shot does? I know it causes ovulation, but how?

Thanks,

New and Confused!

Hi Ruby2shoes2

Yay for O. I'm O at the moment my tummy is soooo tender as of yesterday. So DBing tonight!!!!

What day do I start counting my 2ww? Is today day 1 since I had the shot last night or do I start counting tomorrow after the IUI?

I guess you would start counting from when you have your IUI because the FS is putting the spermies in with that proceedure. Does that make sense?

I'm lots more moodier too. I'm a nightmare at the moment and DH doesn't help matters by winding me up either!!

When is everyone due to test?

I don't know when to test really!! I don't know what my cyle is. My little ticker says 12 days. HA ha ha I don't really think it is wise to plan my life around my pastel ticker though........

I think once I get a good prog test I will be a little more apt to believe it and test..... on the 15th???

hello Chicago!!!!!!!!!!

Yes!! Please join us!! The more the merrier.

So, as far as your HCG question goes. HCG helps with the final maturation of your eggs. It triggers ovulation of a mature egg ( a good one ) After your egg is released it helps your corpus luteum, the little blood filled reservior that is left after you ovulate to produce progesterone. Progesterone is needed to get your uterus ready and accept an egg. Also, your corpus luteum will produce progesterone until the placenta takes over ( i think that is about the second trimester, but I am not absolutely sure)

So, this is the stuff it already does in your body and the synthetic mimics it.

Not sure about the OPK. But, I think that since HCG seems to help after ovulation, it will not mess your tests up. Those test do only detect LSH. But,like I said not exactly sure.

I know it is all so confusing. I am new with the doctors, tests, when to do stuff. These ladies have been my saving grace!! They know EVERYTHING!!!! I am just a book worm who happens to be a nurse, so I know all about the anatomy and physiology.

Thanks Ruby2Shoes2! Is anyone else doing IUI this month? Regarding testing, the nurse who performed the IUI today told me not even to bother to take a pregnancy test at home since I had the Hcg shot and would likely result in a false positive pretty much from now until AF is due. By then, I would have had more bw done, so looks like I can save my money this month by not buying those ridicuously expenseive hpts. Just fyi for anyone else who had an hcg shot this month.

I forgot to ask about the OPKs. I got a smiley face on the OPK this morning before the IUI, so I'm not going to need them anymore this month anyway.
