I too have taken Clomid, but with no success. However, I have blocked tubes... hence, Clomid isn't much help! Anyway, my body responded quite well to it as I had nice follicles, they just couldn't get where they needed to be. I did have some pretty nasty side effects though. I had terrible hot flashes and started getting migraine headaches while on it too. I know it affects everyone different though. Good luck!

Hello, !!!
Clomid didn't help me either. I did however get pg 5 months after I discontinued all the meds. I had side effects as well...headaches, mood swings and was hot all the time (which I am usually always cold). I did respond to very well but was later told by my new RE that since my fsh level was increased that clomid alone would work for me. And his suggestion was after 3 rounds of unsuccessful attempts, most likely there is another reason why pregnancy is not taking place. So our plan was to do clomid and injectables together. However, I never made it that far. I ended up getting pg on a totally natural cycle after I had an hsg. DH and I were totally shocked!! Good luck to you. I hope cloimid is a success for you!

Hi Jessi,

I don't want to destroy your hopes on getting pregnant on this so I will start of with the negative and then the positive.
My RE told me that if you do not get pregnant on Clomid after trying it for 6 months then you will never get pregnant.
My OBGYN told me that people have been successful on Clomid beond trying it for 6months. That sometimes it took them 8-9 months.
A girl on this board(I don't remember her name) got pregnant her first time using clomid.
I would think your age plays a factor with clomid just like everything else.
However, you should remember that everybody is different and nobody responds to medication exactly the same.
Good luck,
M-

I took Clomid 50 mg the first time and then 100 mg the 2nd cycle and got pg the 2nd time, but miscarried. I have no side effects from Clomid besides swollen achey ovaries.

Wishing you luck,

I have done acouple rounds of clomid and all I can say is emotional rollercoaster. I know everyone reacts different and I hope that you have better luck. I just came off of it about a week and a half ago and the hot flashes have stopped so thats a good thing. They only thing I keep telling myself though is that it will all be worth it in the end if I get pregnant. I wish you the best of luck and just keep your head up. It is rough but we will all get through it together.

I tried clomid for 3 months without success- I never ovulated. I would say that if it doesn't work after several months- then go on the the next step- injections. Don't waste your time and money. Good luck and hopefully it will work for you.
