success rates with clomid for healthy adults

Does anyone know what the success rates are for clomid when taken by a person with no known health issues???

I just took my 2nd cycle of clomid. Me and my husband have had all the tests and everything is great.

I'm 35. He's 37. TTC for 15 months.

I don't know success rates, but I took clomid for 6 months. I did not achieve pregnancy. Everything I read said to not take this drug for more than 3-4 months. I learned the hard way. My endometrial lining suffered and became small and useless. I still don't think my lining has recovered and I don't care what an md tells me. It seems like a no big deal drug but I know a lot of people on here, including myself, will caution you about this med.
Good luck.

i agree. use it 3-4 cycles and then move on to something else. i only used it 3 months, but many women on here went on for longer and regret it. if you are looking for success rates, you may try googling "clomid success rates" and hopefully you will find some good info. good luck!

I just took my 2nd cycle of clomid. Me and my husband have had all the tests and everything is great.

I'm 35. He's 37. TTC for 15 months.

From everything I have read 70-80% of women ovulate on a does of 50-100mg. SO if you are on either of those doses and responding to the med taking it for 6months is preferred. Of these 50% (if I remember correctly) will become pregnant.

However, based on what I have read, if you have not ovulated up to 150mg then the clomid generally will not work for those individuals beyond that dose. Also most women get pregnant within the first three months of clomid therapy, but that stat is assuming that you are ovulating on it and the reason they usually stop clomid therapy after 6months is because the majority of women that have not become pregnant within that time frame most likely won't on the clomid. Thus there is no point in continuing the therapy.

Anyway--Hope this helps!

Hi Ladies

I was on clomid for 7 consecutive months with no break in between cycles. On CD2 of my 7th cycle I had a laparoscopy and now I finally have my .

I was told most women fall pregnant within the first 4 cycles. But alas not for me.

DH and I were supposed to start IUI tomorrow but now we don't have to.

I think everyone is different in how they react to clomid. My advise would be do your research and decide for yourself.

Hi Ahhny

Thank you for your wishes. It's taken a very long 12 months to get this so I'm just going to enjoy it while I can.

All 3, soon to be 4 of my children are 'clomid babies', with all conceived within the first 4 cycles.

It is a roller coaster, and depending on any diagnoses and how your body responds, it can be a good thing, or very difficult.

Best of luck!

Hi Docswife1

I haven't had any progesterone tests for 3 cycles. I was only taking the clomid after my 4th cycle to keep my cycles regular in preparation for the lap and for the 7th I was told to keep going with clomid.

I also haven't had a BT to confirm pregnancy but 7 + HPTs and 4 different brands are pretty convincing lol.

I have an appointment for my post op with FS on Monday so I guess she will order a BT to check my HCG levels.

We were supposed to start the treatment for IUI today but we don't need that path now.
