Clomid and spotting

Does anyone know if this is normal? I have been spotting since CD 12 to CD 17 (today is CD 18 so far no spotting) Last night it was alot more than spotting, but still pink. I called my DR Friday, he said "it's not really normal, but I'm not to worried about." I'm starting not to like him . I was cramping last night like I was going to get my period, so I thought I was going to wake up to , but today nothing. I feel great today. I've never had spotting before during my cycle and my cycles have always been normal 28-30 days long. Last month clomid made my cycle 34 days . Last month was 100 mg, this month 150mg. Just wondering if this is normal for a high dose. Maybe since I feel good today the clomid is out of my system .Thank you ladies for reading I hope it makes sense any advice would be great.

I haven't had any spotting during the clomid treatment, but interestingly the first month after a clomid cycle I had a lot of spotting. Also my doctor didn't seem too concerned....Somehow i firmly believe that clomid is the reason....
Hope everything works out for you!

Don't know that I can help you but, I spotted my last cycle on 50mg Clomid. Very unusual for me, never "really" started, just off and on spotting 4-5days. RE told me it was normal, just maybe I didn't ovulate well enough on 50mg; this cycle he put me on progesterone X 1odays to induce a good period and he increased my Clomid dose to 150mg. We'll see, just seems a bit strange that 50mg caused me to spot, but 150mg won't?? I had never had irregular periods before. Good Luck!

I don't have answers for the spotting but I did read that clomid takes 6-8 weeks to completely vacate your body.

Thats VERY interesting!! Where did you find that?? I've been trying to research Clomid a bit because I think it triggered my migraines and its been about 8-9weeks since I last took 150mg Clomid and the headaches just went away over the last week. RE's nurse told me it wasn't from the Clomid but I'm sure it had something to do with it so I have been on a break to decide what to do next!

LOL Honestly I can't remember. I'm hoping now that I didn't dream it! Seriously, though I did read it...I think maybe in a pamphlet or some thing...hmmm thinking, thinking, thinking and I just can't remember! maybe it was the McLeans Mag. That might be it! There was an article about women and all the extra hormones we're getting and they said with the use of drugs like clomid (and that it stays in the body for 6-8 weeks) we are just pumping ourselves too full of un-needed hormones. I felt like this article was written by an a highly fertile person who doesn't even have a clue but still. It might have been McLeans or something else, I'm sure I read that in a magazine.

If I'm wrong, anyone, please feel free to correct me.

When I did Clomid and when I got AF I had a strange cycle each time, really spotty nothing that was the norm....it caused me to have headaches as well (and hot flashes)...I didn't have stomach pains but a couple of people that took the injections class I had to take said that they were doubled over in pain after they took it....When I told my RE about these things she told me that there is never a "normal" response to these things. Everyone is different and may have different S/E....she also told me that with S/E's then you know that something is going on inside and that may mean it is working....

Hi,
I just started clomid and started spotting yesterday.
I also had cramps. I went to the doctor and he said it was okay. Does this make our chances worse for getting pregnant?
Diane

What you have been going through sounds similar to me. I just started clomid 50 mg, and yesterday on my day 16 I started having abdominal pains. I went to the doctor, and he touched my stomach and said I was fine. Today is day 17 and I am spotting again, but no admonal pain. I feel very nausious from this drug as well. Are you still taking it? Diane
