Clomid side effects

Ladies,

Just wondering, I started Clomid on 5/29/07 for days 5-9. The nurse told me that the symptoms, sensitive and tender breasts and mood swings come a week after. Well I have had sensitive breasts for 1 full week now and I haven't had mood swings at all! I'm not complaining about the mood swings at all....just afraid of when or if they do come.

Can anyone shed any light on why I'm still having tenderness? I can't take it anymore. Also, I'm bloated after everything I eat, whether it has sodium or not and I eat 5-6 small meals a day, so I'm not overeating.

Thanks for listening!

I think everyone responds to it diffrently, as for me my crying spells and mood swings happened after day 3 of taking it and night sweats and breast tenderness i started my first round 5/9.. my docotr said if i started bloating or having pains to contact her because it could be a sign of hyper stimulation or someting to that effect however, i had hot flashes and breast tenderness for 2 1/2 weeks after i finished and i think im still having mood swings but i cant tell if its because of the clomid or metformin ive pretty much been a *&^($ since they put me on all the meds for pcos ......just hang in there i hope we all get at least 1 little miracle...

i'm heading towards the end of my 3rd cycle with clomid, 50 mg, days 5-9.

the only side effect during the clomid was incidents of hot flashes, but only a few. the only thing that is different for me is that when ovulating with clomid (unlike the RARE occasion i ovulate on my own), i get noticeable luteal cysts that bother me for a few days past ovulation and some cramping the second half of my cycle.

everyone is different. a lot of it depends on how sensitive your body is to certain kinds of changes. some people get major side effects, and some none.

Clomid Cycle #1

I have just started Clomid CD5-9 50mg (2x daily). My side effects have been hot flashes, headache, and really bad mood swings. I've started to cry a couple of times. My breasts aren't sore or anything. Wish me luck and no more side effects!

I had no mood swings when I took clomid...in fact, my dh thought I was actually more pleasant!!! I had no other side effects either (hot flashes, headaches...nothing) and I was so nervous because you really only hear about the bad side effects from clomid & I was waiting for them to start. So, maybe you are lucky in that way too! Good luck to you!

Unhappy NEW to Clomid

I am also new to Clomid...I am in my first cycle...waiting to take a hpt tomorrow to see if it has worked and if a miracle has happened. My side effects haven't been bad. I was kind of moody, but really nothing much. I am extremely irritable right now...I am not sure if it is b/c I am about to get AF or if I am Pregnant! I can hardly wait to take the test, but am also really nervous. I have taken so many test that have turned out negative that I just expect it now. Wish us luck.

Hi everyone! I'm new here...
Anyone ever have vaginal soreness / burning with sex while on clomid? My pharmacist told me this could happen, but haven't seen anyone else report this.

This is my second cycle using Clomid, 50mg, days 5-9. Also, does everybody receive a Novarel shot after you finish the clomid?

I am also on my second round of Clomid...I have not experienced any vaginal soreness or burning during sex or otherwise. I get REALLY moody and my nipples hurt for about 2 1/2 weels before AF came...NON STOP. If your pharmacist said it could happen then I am sure she/he is right. Many women have many different side effects on this drug.

I haven't had the shot...just on Clomid right now.
Good luck and welcome to this forum. Ask tons of questions.

Thanks for responding! I actually went back to my doc and found out that I had a mild yeast infection...gross I know. But Clomid can cause them. So now I'm playing the waiting game. If no preggers, next time we increase to 100 mg Clomid. I'm with you hope 26, not really loving being on Clomid. I feel like I could cry at all times during the day....the mood swings are just annoying.

Does anyone out there use lubrication at all? My doc gave me samples of Pre-Seed, and told me I could only use that. We've been using KY for a long time, and I wonder if that could be part of our problem.

???

every side effect in the book

I just finished 3 cycles of clomid and, ladies, I had every single one of those symptoms they list (in fact, maybe I should update their list). Miserable hot flashes, night sweats (had to kick DH off of my side of the bed repeatedley and we usually love to snuggle:-( ), irritable, cry at the drop of a hat (those commercials! country songs! happy things...you name it) , yeast infection....am I missing anything?

I am starting injectibles this month and I don't know whether to be nervous (nervous about overstimulation) or releived! Supposedly they have less systemic side effects!

Thanks for your response babydance143! Actually, I discussed it with my doc and she said it was a mild yeast infection...yay. As if I need to make the sex part difficult now.

This is my third cycle now, and I'm on 100mg this time. (please work, please work, please work!)

I read this posting and this is my response:

I just started my first cycle of clomiphene, i'm currently on day 12 of my cycle and i've been having burning/pelvic pain/discomfort with intercourse the last 2 days. My mother said sometimes at ovulation there will be some abdominal cramping (naturally) and i know at certain times in the month ur cervix is lower, which could cause the discomfort, but do any of these things sound familular to what you experienced? I was curious, incase i should contact my doctor (ovary enlargement etc.)
