Travel/Demanding Job and TTC?

Hi, I was wondering if there are any other women out there who have extremely demanding jobs that require them to travel who are also ttc? How do you do it? I have been promoted recently and have to travel 3-4 weeks/month...it's draining enough, but I am also having trouble scheduling my travel around my ovulation so that we can actually be ttc. Any advice? Also what are good ways to keep stress levels down while traveling?

Thanks to all, I could use the support.

Kristin

Kristin - I too was faced with business travel and TTC. While I did not have to travel as much as you, I had to put cycles off because of an upcoming trip and the timing because we were doing IUI and I had to be at the dr's office every other day for monitoring.

My only advice is that if you have control over your travel schedule, then you should be able to figure out when you need to be home, since it's really just a short window each month if you have regular cycles and you are using OPKs. You don't mention if you are TTC naturally or using meds, or any treatment.

I know if you are doing IUI or IVF, travel can be very tough if longer than a couple days at a time. A colleague of mine had to carry her meds in a cooler on a flight from CA to GA and inject herself with her trigger shot in the hotel, she was so stressed.

Also - not sure where you are in your journey or how quickly you want this to happen, but I wish I would have made this a priority a year earlier because by the time I was diagnosed and had surgery and started on treatment, about 7 months went by. We got pregnant quickly, but we lost the babies, so now we are back to square one and I just turned 40. Agh!
