SIL Pg...again.

We found out last night that dh's step-sister is pregnant with her second baby. Unfortunately we are NOT happy for her. She is not a good person. She is 23, lives at home still. DH got her a job (both dh and I work at a prison) and she ended up getting walked out because she has doing inappropriate things with prisoners (YUCK!!!!) Anyways, now the guy she is with is a total loser with no job. Her dad had to go and drag her and her precious little girl out of this guy's trailer one night because they were all doing drugs. Now she says she loves this guy and they are just going to get married and be forever happy.

Her daughter does not even know who her mommy is because dh's step-mom and dh's dad take care of her. They do everything for and with my niece. She sometimes calls dh's step-mom "mamaw" and sometimes she says "mommy." I just can't believe that here SIL is again pregnant. She doesn't even realize the stress she is putting on her mom and her mom's marriage. They are past the age of taking care of small children, and not in the best of health. The stress almost made them split last time....I can't imagine what they are going through this time.

So, now at 23 years old she has 2 kids by 2 guys, is divorced, and is hooked up with drug addicts. Dh and I were so upset last night. He even said that we will not be buying anything for her baby shower. She is making some really poor choices with her life. The bad thing is that dh's little sister is starting to make these same poor choices at 16. We are trying to keep her on the right track and not follow in her sister's footsteps. Right now, I just don't even want to see her. This really is turning out to be a horrible year.....now I have to watch her be pregnant all year, all the while knowing how it is going to turn out in the end.

Well, that's really long, but thanks for listening you guys! Seriously, I don't know if I can deal with this right now.

Steph, I am sorry you are having to deal with all of this. I feel for you and dh. And not to mention the little girl that is caught in the middle of all of this. It p****s me off when I hear about ladies like this who can reproduce. However it does make ladies like us who have IF issues appreciate the joy of a little life.
Thinking of you and please try not to let this ruin you and your journey. Big hugs to you.

Thanks gals. I haven't heard anymore about it today and I really don't want to. I am just like that bird that sticks it's head in the sand (what's it called?). I talked to my sister and mom about it today and they were very supportive.

Ugh, ugh, ugh - it makes you wonder about 'natural selection' eh? Why is it always so darn easy for the most irresponsible, uneducated and unproductive people to reproduce??? Sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else. I'll probably go to hell for even thinking this, but maybe nature will take its course with this one...sounds like it'd be better to not bring the life into this world than to expose it to so much negativity...

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this! It's really not fair! I'll be praying for that little baby and her other child. I really hope her younger sister is not stupid enough to follow in her footsteps. Stay strong and try to be there for the children involved, they'll need all the positive influences and love that they can get. Take care and I'm sending you a big hug! xoxoxo

This is a sad sad story all around. The poor little girl and that unborn baby. I know a few "girls" who either get knocked up by every guy they meet and then treat the baby badly or worse use abortion as birth control. Please don't let this hinder your spirits or desire.

I think we are going to talk to dh's step-mom tomorrow. I want to support her because I know she is going to be super stressed. I am just still so upset that it seems to be so easy for her and how is it possible to take her daughter now for granted? I can imagine that she will do the same with this baby. I don't want to say anything to her because she uses her kids and if you tick her off she just won't let you see her daughter. Geez!!!!

I very sad for you and your DH's family to have to go through this yet again. Maybe someone can talk some sense into her and talk her into adoption. She obviously is not prepared to take care of an infant.

Stay strong during this difficult time!!!

I sat down today and figured it out today. There are 11 people that I know that are currently expecting. Why does this have to happen to me.
