Why do I watch the news?

I have no idea why I even watch the news anymore. They just had a story on about a baby found in a recycling center. A full-term baby girl, just dumped there by her 20 year old mother. I don't know how they found the mother, but they were able to track something back to her.

What's makes it even worse is that Connecticut has a safe haven law that says if you have a baby and don't want it you can bring it to any ER or Fire Station and leave it without saying a word, no questions asked, no fear of prosecution.

What a waste of a perfect little life. I just cried and cried. Why is it so easy for these people to get pg - sometimes I think God can be so cruel.

The news, the radio, it's everywhere! I don't watch the news but for about ten minutes every morning while I'm eating breakfast because it's just too depressing sometimes. But I do listen to the radio the whole time I'm at work and hearing some of the stories like this one just turn my stomach.

That sickens me, too. I just saw on TV the other day that someone dumped a baby boy in a trash bag in Philly in the frigid temps. He was about 3 hours old and thankfully, someone found him and he is recovering and will be fine -- or as fine as can be considering his mom abandoned him. Philly also has that safe haven law but he was left in a garbage bag like last night's leftovers. Poor baby.

I feel the SAME way. It seems that every time I turn on the news there is a similar story - like the one this morning about a 16 (sixteen!) year old girl who gave birth and then walked 4 blocks to the hospital with her baby still attached at the umbilical cord. I mean, I'm glad all is well, but the part about the 16 year old really pissed me off!!!! And last week there was a story about some unfit mother kidnapping her baby from the foster parents. WTF!!!!
