Blue-eyed, Blonds

My RE said it is very difficult to find blue-eyed, blond donors. Frustrating!! Just wondering if there are any other blue-eyed, blonds using DE and how long it took to find a match....

Did you go through your RE or an agency. I guess I don't understand agencies well but it seems - depending on which one you use - it is either more or less expensive though it doesn't seem the RE's like agencies (at my practice) as much.

My RE said the normal wait is 4-6 months but now I'm wondering if that is for everyone or people who look more like me.

I had this problem too!

It took us about 8 months to find a match. They had blonde blue-eyed donors but these donors were used alot. I think some not all couples just want these characteristics in a baby or they pick someone that looks like the husband and not themselves. My de coordinator told me this. The glory of it is, they can pick anyone they like. It can make it harder if you naturally have blonde-hair and blue eyes. If you are tall too good luck that is tough as well. My re did'nt like agencies he said I needed to find a fair donor and it wasn't easy. Hope this helps.

It does help - thank you.

So did you find your donor through the RE?

In my RE's practice people won't be able to pick the blue-eyed blond people just because it's what they want. They do match to your characteristics and only offer a match for your to review. But they said few donors have those characteristics. Maybe those that do volunteer for agencies (perhaps they pay more??).

Anyhow, congratulations on having a match! Hope you have a great cycle and very successful pregnancy.

I went through an agency to get a blonde blue eyed donor. It cost more but I got the donor I wanted. I put two donors on hold in Sept. The donor we chose had a cycle with another couple in Oct. Donors take a month off cycing to recover and then in Dec we had our cycle with her. Good luck!

We did our IVF in the Czech Republic and many/most of their donors are blonde and blue eyed. It took only 3 months from the time we first contacted the clinic until our ET.

Found my blue eyes blond right away

Hello,

I just wanted to post a quick response to your post as I wanted to find not only a blonde hair and blue eyes donor but that had Light Blonde hair and White blonde as a child. Very specific isn't it.

Well I first went through agencies and because they sent me the wrong picture with the donor of choice we decided to find our own.

And we did and she is just what I wanted and pretty also that's a bonus.

I would be glad to refer you to her after we are done.

Good luck

Helene

Hi Helene,

That would be wonderful. What state are you in by the way? Thank you and good luck with your cycle.

Hello there -
Not sure if you've found your ideal donor, but I've looked online at different donor lists and have seen quite a few blond/blue eye combos in California. Example: The Sperm Bank of California www.thespermbankofca.org currently has 10+ donors that are blond and blue eyed.

Good luck in your quest!

Thank you Ma-Ma-Malia. I think that link is for donor sperm. What I am looking for is a woman donating her eggs that looks the most like me. Thank you very much though!!

Blonde and Blue

Well, my donor has blonde hair and blue eyes, 6'3" and at least 5 adults pictures, video too, high GPA. you are interested leave me a message and I will send you the website...I paid $600...sperm count was 22mil...got my IUI, Tuesday....although my RE suggested Fairfax and California Cryo, I can't base my decision on only baby pics and the few with adult photos, fairfax makes it so hard to get the adult pics.....
