How many blasties did you transfer?

Hi All -

I'm just curious how many blasties you chose to transfer? My DH and I go back and forth between two and three. We feel that if we're going to all this trouble we want to increase our chances, but know triplets are out of the question for us.

If you feel triplets are out of the question I think you have to stick to 2.

Good luck with your decision.

I have heard if you transfer 3 blasts the chances of twins is 40% and if you transfer 2 it is 30% but I would love to know what others have heard.I have no idea about triplet rates. My doc gets nervous with trips. I start my patches in 3 days and would like to be aggressive in transferring a good number because of vanishing twin and miscarriage rate. I know miscarriage rate is supposed to be low though. I have heard be careful what you wish for!

My RE has a limit of 2 for anyone over 40, and 2 is how many are currently opting for a condo lease inside me right now.

My RE has a limit of 2 also. He is trying to talk us into one because he thinks our chances are so good with DE IVF (I think Lia said her RE wanted her to think about this too) I say no way! I want both to boost our chances.
About the chances... our RE says that because I carried well before the miscarriage and D&C, that we have an 80% chance. That sounds great, but a little too good to believe. I do think part of it is the success rate of the RE.

We transferred 3 ... 2 were great and 1 was good. I am soon to be 35 (December) but since my DH is sterile our only choice was IVF with ICSI using Donor sperm. We just hope more than 1 took but we'll take what we can get!

Our RE only wanted us to transfer 1 until we found that our embryos were pretty poor quality. Then he was ok with 2, but even with poor quality embryos he wouldn't do 3. Last year our RE had 3 instances where 2 embryos spontaneously became 3 little ones, so he's understandably wary. If you're sure 3 is out of the question, you may want to stick with 2.

Our RE told us if we transfer 3 our triplet rate would be < 5%. This may be because I'm 42. We have 2 great embies and one O.K. embie. We do know that one great one and the O.K. one have all normal chromosomes. The other great one has no information about the chromosomes.
Our RE wants to transfer all 3, but we haven't decided on 2 or 3 yet! Yikes!! We have until next Tuesday to make a decision. Any thoughts?

We transferred 2 blasts. Like some of the others there were restrictions - under 35 they would only do 2 unless they were really poor quality and then they would consider three. Both took!
