Post UPDATE: Changed Doctors! The new ER has his own EDers

Well as of 8/27/08 my husband and I changed RE. The new RE is great and has thing really together! The old RE we were using had no match for us for a split cycle IVF we were hoping to do, after he told us he did when we had our first visit and now tells us we were being put on a waiting list for a match and it could take up to a year! Alos sometimes I would call the IVF coordinator at his office and I wouldn't get a call back for a week. I just had it with everything! So I moved on!!!

We went to see our new RE in Tampa Fl and things have been moving quickly ever since! We went for our first Consultation 8/27/08 and were able to pick a in office ED out of their book of EDers (which we got a call from the office the same day telling us she was called and she called them back to say she would be our ED). I had blood work done that same day. They gave me Vivelle(estradiol) to start taking 8/30/08, which I am taking to get my periods to start again, since I am in menopause and haven't had a peroid in 3 years. My husband has a appt on 9/3/08 for his sperm analysis and his blood work. I have a appt on 9/9/09 to have a ultra sound to see how thick the lining is inside my uterus. I have appt for 9/17/09 to have my mock transfer and this was done set-up during the first consultation! Then the IVF coordinator said after we finish all these steps the next step, if all is good is to start the cycle with the ED. Now this is the way I like to see things work!

We had our first appt with the old RE on 7/21/08 and we still haven't even got to the ED let alone any testing. The only reason I wanted to use him was we could do a split cycle with another couple that was doing IVF, which meant that we would have only half the eggs and we also could never see what the woman looked like we were sharing with, we could only read her profile on paper and hope we like what we read! We were willing to do this because the cost of the IVF was half price!

Well do I have news for you about the new RE!! By doing some seaching I was able to find this great RE in Tampa that has a very high sucess rate 70% and he has EDers that are included in his IVF. I am able to look at their photos and profiles and he is "CHEAPER" then the half price cycle ER that I had!! To top it all off I have my own ED, and all the eggs are 'Ours'. He does all this because he is that good and has been in business for over 24 years and never has to advertise anymore. He also does all his IVF in his office, without a hospital, which really cuts the cost! All his clients are from word of mouth. As he told me he like his practice to remain small and then he can really concentrate on each client he has and really know what their needs are to succeed in having a child. I really like this RE and the office is great. The three girls that work there, which are all nurses, are so personal and they will call you by your first name! They e-mail me to see how things are going. They also answer the phone and know who you are by voice and talk to you without your call going to a voice mail. This is the way I like things! I can go on and on about how much better they are then the first RE, but I feel like I am at peace with this RE and that makes this whole IVF cycle so much more stress free. I know in my heart that this is the RE for us and my DH and I will have the best shot at this with him!! I am so glad I really took the time to find him, when I was so frustrated with my old RE. I feel so blessed to have found him also! God works in mysteries ways!

Unhappy

Misti & Baby fever, Thanks so much for your words of kindness!!

Well today my husband had his Sperm analysis done and they have determined that he has a low sperm count, but the Doctor said he still has plenty for us to use for the IVf. The one thing he said to my husband was, that if my husband tried to have a baby naturally that he would have a very low chance of achieving a pregnancy, which made my husband mope around all day today. I am so happy because we can still have a baby, yet my husband is having a hard time with this. I told him that we will do this and he is worried that he will never have a child. He also is feeling funny about the fact that he would never have had a child with someone if he tried naturely! I guess it has something to do with his manhood. I just keep telling him that we are going to have a child together! I don't know what eles to say to him. I just pray that this all works out for us and the big comes soon and we can get passed all the drama of getting there.

Talking getting a lot of e-mails about Dr Weldens Office!

His web site is~ Docwelden.com

Lets start by saying that Dr Welden does all his work with God in his mind! He does all of his IVF in office, not in a hospital. He is a very well known Doctor here in Tampa and he has been doing IVF for 20 some years and he does nothing to make himself rich. He says he just wants to live comfortable. He is the only doctor in the practice and he never needs to advertises, his business is all word of mouth and most of his ED come from people he know in church, or word of mouth. He is a great doctor! I was going to a RE for 2 months before I heard about him from someone I know and I would never go back to the money making RE I had at first. Dr Weldens office only does about 100 IVF's a year and hes office is really nice but out in the county. The 3 girls that are nurse at the office know me by name. If I call there to ask about something they will say Hi Connie what do you need. They are great! If you went there you would no what I mean, they make you fell like they have known you forever!!
If you talk to them tell them I sent you, If you like!
Sincerely,
Connie & Frank
Doing Our IVF with Dr Weldon October 2008
