I sent an email to the financial coordinator at my clinic. I'll see. I could pay cash, but that would completely wipe out our emergency fund. Which is scary in today's economy.

I'm sharing eggs because it's much cheaper. It cuts the cost in half.

And the succesful pregnancy rates for the primary recepient in a shared cycle are the same as for the solo recepient.

Is that with shared donor? Is it Shady Grove? I'm paying 29,000 for 6 cycle plan with guarantee. I already paid 4000 to reserve the donor, and I need to pay 25,000 more. But I get all 29,000 back if I don't end up with a baby.

Wow I think the shared program is great Our donor is 23 and likely to spit out eggies like a ummm eggie spitter LOL We know (because she's a returning donor) that we're likely to have a significant amount of extra eggs.

We're going to donate our embryo's to another person most likely. I have to talk about the process, but DH and I are pretty set on doing that since it's unlikely we'll use the majority of the eggies (they will only implant two five day blasts and we are only doing two cycles AT MOST!) They expect this to work well on cycle one, (fingers crossed) because there isn't anything "wrong" with me aside from age.

I suppose shared eggies might have been an issue for us. Apparently red heads aren't in vogue this year (we chose our donor based on my characteristics, petite with flaming red hair heh heh) so it might not have been an option for others (although I just don't get people who want blond and brunette babies LOL ok KIDDING!)

Well I hope this goes well for you! We're pretty excited. We went from "maybe IVF after one more IUI cycle" to a screatching hault (called for by me) to move right into IVF because of the high chances with donor eggs.

Sadly that meant that I had to have four hundred tests done in one day...people were in parts of my body I normally expect to receive at least a drink for before allowing enterance Mamogram, HSG, EKG, (ok it takes two drinks before I give you my heart) and sucking the blood out of me like a vampire. Sheesh! All of this was done on my birthday
