I'm sure any gift would be wonderful. If it's meaningful to you, that will always show through!
The program I am in is anonymous, and I'm quite certain they don't allow gifts (or really any exchange of any kind-- even information goes through the clinic first), but if it's something you're able/want to do, that's really sweet. I'm sure she will love it. If you really want to know my personal opinion, I like knowing that the eggs I donate (and subsequent embryos) go ONLY to the person/couple that chose me as a donor. Like I said, the donation is anonymous, but I still prefer the idea of knowing that my genetic material is going to someone who carefully thought out characteristics they wanted for their child (be it physical, or something else they liked in my profile) and made some kind of connection with "me". Not saying donating the embryos is a bad thing, but those are just my personal thoughts on it. I'm sure others would disagree. Whatever you choose to do, best of luck! ![]() |

nr that's pretty much where my struggle is. I know they're "our" embryo's, but they're also our donor's genetic material as well and I'm struggling with the choices.
Our program names the donors by number, and we don't have interaction, but I do know she was given information about us much as we were about her. Our son's information was a big deal with one of the donors but we didn't choose her so iin the end it wasn't something that mattered (our son has the boy in the bubble disease, to a lesser extent and he will grow out of it). I guess we'll keep struggling with the decision, we're definately YES and then maybe and then blah blah blah daily LOL

whatever you decide to do, i'm sure it'll be all good... as long as you're at peace!
it's so funny, i didn't think we were allowed to do anything like that, but the clinic called today and said the recipient had a card for me. so the clinic forwarded it to me... that's real sweet of her... enjoy your day ![]() |

Just wanted to say to the egg donors who read this thread....Thank you so much your recipient parents are more thankful than any words could say. What you ladies do for us who can't use our own eggs is the most precious gift we could ever receive. Thank you its women like you that are allowing my dream to come true. Each little flip and kick that I feel makes me realize how much more that this little one is a true miracle.
Thank you again! ![]()
