That is wonderful that your sister has stepped forward! There are a few girls on the Donor Egg thread that have used "known" donors. You would pay for everything except for the Donor Compensation fee, which runs anywhere from 3,500 to 6,000 ususally. The cost of Donor Egg IVF is very expensive, but some clinics offer Shared Risk (I am doing that), or multi-cycle plans, and you can shop around the US and look at different clinics if you have the flexibility to travel.

Thanks, do you know why the Donor Egg cycles are so much higher? Is it because you have to pay for two people to go to the DR and get checked up on?

I am one of the people that LGB mentioned who is in the process of moving forward with known donor screening. I would strongly recommend you check with the clinic you are using to see what their requirements are before you plan to move forward with your sister as your donor. I know my RE requires any known donor to meet the same screening requirements as an anon donor, which meant that my 33 year old sister was not able to be my donor, b/c my clinic doesn't take donors over 31 yoa.
Also, you might want to check with your clinic about the donor fee, that can vary tremendously. (If you're worried about the donor fee.) Best of luck to you!
