IUI/IVF with Donor Sperm?

Anyone here using a sperm donor and IUI or IVF? DH and I have decided to move on from our break and start DIUIs back up again soon. We should be cycling by late July or early August. Just wondering if I there are others out there cycling with donor sperm anytime soon. I would love to hear from you if you are doing similar treatments. Anyone?

Maria~

Hi. DH and I have used Xytex for our donor sperm. We did donor back-to-back IUI's in April and May, both were BFN's. We are now in the process of waiting for IVF authorization from our insurance co. The kicker is that we're using donor sperm and paid out of pocket for the 2 cycled IUI's. If we are approved for IVF then we'll be starting up in August. If not, we may do one more IUI in July (still up in the air) before taking the plunge $$$ with IVF.

Maria,

I just had my 3rd DIUI cycle and unfortunately AF arrived this AM. I'll be cycling again in August. Such a stressful time!!! I did 4 cycles last year and got a BFP in May of 2008, but lost my angel June 9th (7weeks). Was the worst thing I've ever been through. Since I've started cycles again, I've done 2 natural cycles and 1 with clomid. Now I'm wondering if I should use clomid this next cycle or natural.

Anyway... let me know how you are doing!

One Day To Go

DH and I have been ttc naturally 11 yrs! He has zero count. We are about to do our first DIUI tomorrow!!! He had issues initially, but has moved past that to be very supportive and an active participant. Our RE put us in contact with the sperm bank that they often use. They did a photo match to match DH's photo to likely donors for similar features. I guess we will see in two weeks.

carrie..good luck!! my DH also has azoospermia, though he has taken fertility meds to "boost" the sperm count, we don't want to do another SA to see what the numbers are, so our first iui we mixed his semen sample with donor sperm...it resulted in BFN, but we are ready to try again, possibly sept/oct....i wish everyone the best of luck and may we all be blessed with soon!

2ww

The 2ww is brutal!! I have to say that my emotions have run my life for the past 5 days. Only 9 more days left! We toss names back and forth, we watch TLC's Birth Day, we try to stay out of the baby area of the stores. This is torture! Who knew two weeks was so long?

I did four cycles of IUI with donor sperm and I didn't get pregnant on three of the tries. The third one, I technically got a BFP but it was a chemical pregnancy.

Hopefully, you won't have the same results that I had.

For those of you in the TWW I'll be thinking of you. It is nerve-wrecking but hopefully it will pay off.

Congrats to all of you who are about to start or are already on the DIUI road to parenthood! Our DD just turned 8 months old today from a DIUI.

We chose to use DS b/c DH had a vasectomy after his youngest was born. It was one of the best decisions we ever made.

Good luck to you all and may you all get your s soon!

Hi ladies. DH has very low sperm count and motility. We tried IVF/ICSI twice to no avail. We are now moving on to DS. In about a week I will try an at-home insemination with frozen ds. If that doesn't work, we will be doing a clomid DIUI in September. If that doesn't work, I just don't know. Good luck to us all. Let us know how it goes.

I just had an IUI on 8/2 using donor sperm. Count was 151 million, so I'm hoping one of them made it!

Have to wait again......

I have to put TTC on hold for a little longer now because DH's and his ex are having a court battle for visitation and child support concerning my stepdaugher. We are going to wait until all of this is settled before we start TTC again. It makes me mad that because of this I have to postpone TTC again but I don't want to be stressed out when I cycle again so I guess waiting is the best thing to do. I am so ticked off that DH's ex is the reason I have to put things on hold.

Anyways, how is everyone else doing? Who is cycling or in a 2ww right now? Keep me posted!

our first try

Good morning everyone! I am new here, my name is Robin. My husband and I are going for our first DIUI in October. We finished all of our testing in August and September. My husband is a cancer survivor and has zero count so therefore we are using a donor. We found a match and now we wait until it's time. I have a daughter from a previous relationship. I have to say, I'm so nervous about it not working the first time. I'm trying not to stress, but unfortunately that's just me haha. I hope all of your days are going well, I read everyone's stories and I wanted to say congrats to those that got a positive result and good luck and keep at it to those that haven't yet. Hope to hear some updates soon!
