Fibroids

I had a hysterosonogram done, and it showed I have a fibroid

I never had any fibroids before.

So, now I have to have it removed and then wait two months, before I can cycle.

Anyone had a fibroid? How complicated is it to remove it?

I live in Maryland - can anyone recommend me where to go to get it removed?

I had three fibroids removed in early March. It was a pretty straight forward procedure...doctors do it all of the time. It did take several weeks to heal since I had the open adominal procedure with the bikini cut. I am cycling now...I had to wait the 2 months plus get coordinated with my donor.

I ended up just doing it in Virginia with the doc that doing my DE, because she was able to shedule me much faster than I could get in Maryland. This was also good, because she had the opportudity to directly and imediatelly see the effect of the procedure and make decisions based on that.

So, the doc did hysteroscopy and removed the part of the fibroid that was inside the uterine cavity.

She called me the next day and told me it went so good I only need one month break.

Two weeks after hysteroscopy, when I came for the post-op checkup, she showed me the pictures of before and after, and then we spent most of the time talking about the cycle!

I started lupron yesterday.

I have one fibroid in my uterus and my RE said not to do anything about it. It has not grown in the 3 years that I have had it. Basically my RE said it may cause more scare tissue to remove it than to just leave it alone. This was when we first found out about it and I have gotten pregnant 2 times (one was a miscarriage) since than. I would say weight your options, did your RE suggest you have it removed?

I have a fibroid also...the doc said it was small and had not grown so to leave it alone. I was able to get pregnant with it but it still causes pain at times.
