I am going to quote and reply to our two newest members, Leenalee and thefox. This way everyone can see their original posts and they don't get lost in the thread changeover.

I've been lurking on this board for a while, following all of your stories and getting so much inspiration from all of you. You all impress me so much! You're strong, intelligent, supportive, and you're as knowledgable as the Drs. I've seen. I'm happy to finally be able to join you in the "non-lurking" capacity.

I hate to arrive on the board and ask for advice right away, but I was wondering if you could help me get through the weird emotional landmine DH and I just encountered?

Like all of you, we were trying so hard to do this on our own. We had two confirmed m/c, 2 more suspected, and a failed IVF/IUI. This month, we came up with a plan to get comfortable with donor eggs which was to try one last time to reproduce the exact events that led to the longest pregancy - HSG + Femera + Follistim. We did all this so that we would not have any regrets about moving on to donor eggs.

So why did all that enthusiasm I had for the donor route not make the arrival of any easier? We didn't really think that reproducing all the same events as the long pregnancy would miraculously work. In fact, we've been knocking out the pre-reqs for the donor cycle, picked our donor, confirmed she's available and willing, and will be starting our mock cycle now that AF showed up.

I honestly don't understand why now I'm a weeping mess. Did any of you go through this either when you were deciding to go donor or when the last AF before your mock cycle started?

Leenalee
I think it is completely normal to feel this way. I kept wondering if I should try again with my own eggs during our wait for our DE cycle. You need to allow yourself to mourn the loss of one thing, before you can feel the joy of the next.

I wanted to check in here and see if I can join in? Is this DE and IVF site only for those trying to get pregnant or for those who were successful with DE and IVF as well?

I am 15 weeks pregnant with twins (boy and a girl), used a DE and it was my first time trying IVF.

Let me know if I can jump in! Or, if there is another link to those who used DE and pregnant, please let me know.

thefox!!
Congratulations on those twin boys! How has your pregnancy been going so far. I gave birth to twin girls in April. Be sure to take it easy - carrying twins wears you out!

Hey guys- The disappointing news keeps on coming. My donor was slated to trigger tomorrow... they are now pushing her off and having her stim another day to make a decision...

the twelve follicles they were tracking disappeared to just eight within range. I have such a bad feeling now. This from a 26 year old donor with proven fertility.

In any event, I wanted to just drop by to let you know I'm still sweating it out here. Honestly--- this being my last chance, I am just so distraught that I got all this way and now this... an underperforming donor. If this doesn't work and I get no frozens to at least try... this is it for me.

Igloo- I saw your news from the other thread... I am so sorry for your loss. ((hugs))

Kate, Congrats on you baby girls! I'm so happy they are both doing well and I'm so happy you are finally a mommy. I love their names! How is it being a mommy to twins?

Janet- Congrats on your baby too. It seems like yesterday we were both just pregnant. My baby was born Dec.22. I have a little boy named Tyler. And now you have already done the FET, time flies! I've got my fingers crossed for you. It is way too early to POAS! I have 2 snowbabies. I'm going to wait until the end of the year to try again. How many snowbabies did you start with?

What happened?

I am not sure I understand the last post of the previous thread. Does that mean the people/person who wrote the "offensive" post is no longer a part of the group?

Anyhoo.... Thanks to Tbonus for reposting a new thread and to Kate and Godiva for getting it up and going.

Leenalee and Fox . You will find a lot of support and great answers to just about any question you have during the process. I agree with Kate... Moving over to DE is a process each person deals with. I had a tough time right before the transfer. I am now 23 weeks pregnant with twins and don't have a single regret or worry (about the DE thing) I have plenty of worries!

Shellie,
I understand exactly how you feel. I ended up with 9 eggs. I was lucky to transfer two but had none to freeze. I was so upset, but later found out I was carring two. Don't give up! It only takes a good egg or two! If she is a proven donor quality over quantity may be the key! KUP

Kate,
I also would love to know how it has been for you. I have moments of terror at the thought of going home with two infants. Are there any tips you can share?

AFM... trucking right along. I have reduced my workweek to 4 days per week. I still am having a bad swelling issue with my legs and feet. Drs say it is nothing to worry about as far as the babies, but it is darn uncomfortable.

Shellie- I know exactly how you feel! I went through a very similar situation. Like you I was disappointed with my donor's progress and her trigger was moved back a day as well. Plus, I split the cycle so I really felt as though there was no hope. I definitely made the mistake of writing off the cycle too quickly as I am now pregnant with my precious twins. Please try to remain optimistic! Did your DC tell you the donor's E2 level? If not, you may want to inquire as this can be indicitive of the quality. I wish you all the best and please know that we are all here to support you through this journey. Please KUP.

Jen- That is so sweet! You and DH seem to have a great relationship. I am SO nervous to see my DH again. I have never been away from him for this long. I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking of him!

Godiva – You are a goddess. Thanks for getting the list up again so quickly!! Sorry you are deadline girl.

Faith – So happy to hear DH will be coming home sooner. Seems to make everything right with the world.

Jen – Glad the breakthrough was nothing to really worry about. Once you have the ET no running so just think of it as an early start.

Sanda – You are scooting right up on ER. Woo-Hoo!!!

Shellie – I am still that everything will work out great. I know it doesn’t help to hear but it really only does take one or two good ones. KUP tomorrow.

Friedeggs – So glad to hear things are going well (except for discomfort).

Pack – Can’t wait to hear about Wednesday!!!

Blue -

I promise I will post tomorrow morning after I POAS (if I get the nerve) . I want to know but I don’t want to know if it is bad. I know. Can’t have it both ways. : )

Thank you guys, for the uplifting words. Rationally, I know that this can still work, it just minimizes the room for error. Knowing that DH and I are financially and emotionally drained of almost 5 years of this... I had my heart set on how I wanted this to go in my head, and just disappointed that I seem to end up on the wrong side of the stats over and over.

So, for all the pg ladies who were in a similar situation, keep the words of inspiration coming... thank goodness I have you guys to vent to.

Personals later... I need a glass of wine. ;-)

Quick question: Is it okay for pregnant gals to eat leftovers? Being on bedrest, it is difficult for me to cook dinner every night, The last few days I have been cooking larger portions and then putting leftovers in the fridge and heating in the microwave the next day for lunch. Is this okay? I would call my OBGYN but I have a suspicion that since they don't really take vaginal bleeding and cramping seriously they probably wont take this question seriously either . Thanks girls.
