New Here...Very Nervous

Hello Everyone, I have been lurking for quite some time, but have never posted. My name is Sue. This is my first donor cycle and I am very nervous. My Donor had her eggs retrieved yesterday. I was told there were 14 to 17 eggs retrieved, but am still mot quite sure. I will find out today how many fertilized and tomorrow I will find out when the transfer is going to occur (either Tues or Thurs). My lining is only at a 7, but the RE still thought we should go through with it. Has anyone here got BFP with such a low lining. I can't sleep, eat, or think about anything else until I find out how many eggs fetilized with ICSI. I am hopeful that we will have some to freeze if it doesn't work, and work on my lining. I have had 3 IUI's and my lining has always been 10. The RE did not do a mock cycle since my lining had been so good in the past. I now I am so sorry that he did not do the mock. Also, 14 to 17 seems low for a young donor? Thank you so much for letting me vent. I look forward to being inolved in your supportive community.

Hi Sue,

Welcome and good luck in your DE cycle!
I don't know about the lining, but I did want to let you know that our 24 year old donor produced 16 eggs and we had to split those with another recipient. So after that, we had 7 matures eggs to work with and each time, we had great looking embryos with very high quality. So don't worry too much about the numbers-I was definitely expecting more from my young donor, but it turned out we didn't need a ton to get good quality blasts.

Hang in there!

With my first DE cycle in 2007 I could never get a lining above 7.3. We had a very successful cycle with a BFP resulting in a DS. We have decided to go the route again and I am 1dpt, same donor. 11 eggs, 7 mature and fertilized. She is 26. My lining was 7.1 this time. It can be done!

Egg question similar

I am in my first DE IVF cycle. My lining was great I guess, but I did do mock cycle. Friend told me to make sure I did the mock in case they had to "tweak" the meds. I have heard from a few people they still get a BFP with linings from 7-9.

I too though am unsure about how many eggs are a lot. My DD is 23 and she has 21 follies and the size and egg count is increasing daily..she has 10 right now and her retrieval is end of the week. I am sharing with 2 couples. YUK.

Hope all goes well for you. Go to the main DE thread and keep us posted!

Thank you! Unfortunately, my cycle did not go so well. 17 eggs were retrieved, 14 ICSI, 8 fertilized, 3 transferred on day 3. 5 frozen. RE's office called on Friday to tell me that it was a positive beta, but very low (only 4) and that there was not a change. What made me so upset was when I heard her say postive...I was so excited for about 5 seconds. She should have just told me that it was negative and then go on to explain. The worst part was that my friend took me to the mall to help pass the time....I was so nervous I couldn't work. I was bawling out of control walking through the mall... and didn't care. I had to go back to RE on Tuesday to make sure my levels had dropped. We are meeting with RE on Friday to discuss the FET and mock cycle to make sure my lining is good. I will start posting on the IVF with DE.
