AMH Test

Hi Everyone,

Just talked to my doctor and I got my AMH results back. He said it was "6.7", but didn't give me any units. He did say the reference range was from 0-6.9, so I'm guessing 6.7 is a good number. Still doesn't explain why I didn't respond well to the last cycle.

What does AMH measure, specifically? Just wondering if anyone knows.

Thanks!

8/21/09 Karotype test reveals low-level mosaicism for Turner Syndrome, geneticists unable to shed much light on how this will effect fertility

9/09- Menopur produces lots of 14 mm follies that fizzle from lack of E2....cycle cancelled

10/09- BCP to reset cycle...a welcome break!

AMH test done 9/26/09 and comes back at 6.7 "very good reserve"

10/30/09- Gonal F AND Menopur
11/6/09- LOTS of follies from 10-12 mm. E2 at 306...a record for me!!
11/8/09- UGH too MANY follies...E2 729, 10+ follies over 15 mm. Cycle cancelled

That does sound quite high, maybe there are 2 scales used bc mine came back at 2.1 and my RE said that was great and the scale only went up to like 3.5 (optimum fertility) and anything over that was considered PCOS ovaries.

It measures the quantity of all of your eggs left in your reserve.

Even though mine was high, I didn't respond well either and my egg quality was very poor.

AFCl, FSH, and E2 levels should all be taken into consideration along with AMH level. But the real proof of the pudding is in how you stim and eggs retr.
