Cost of Egg donor.

How much does one have to pay for the use of donor eggs.

I think it ranges from clinic to clinic. In total we paid about 20k. We paid our clinic 10k -- 5k to the donor and 5k to the agency that found her. If we had gone through our clinic for the donor it would have been 5k less. We chose to use an agency because we wanted to see photos of potential donors.

We are starting to look into it and the cost is around $7,000. I just printed off the first batch of possible donors and I was shocked to see that they had recent photos of the donors.

We haven't paid anything yet, but they sent out possible donors once I gave them my Dr. name. They are the donor center for my Dr........Kinda surreal. I haven't decided to go that route yet, but I am preparing myself in case it gets down to that as my only option.

Wow...your cost is a lost less than mine. Do you mind my asking where you live?

I think it's smart that you are considering the donor route. I went with it after a failed IVF and a rising FSH level.

We are doing another FET (this first one worked but I miscarried) in a few weeks. I'm trying to stay calm but hopeful.

Heart cost

Well I went to the doctor two months ago to find out I had fibroid tumor. I m 43 and thought i could get pregant. well They sent me to a RF and he told me no way could they use my eggs. He didnt even do any test. He told me my best way was a donor egg and sprem. It 2000. for sprem and 18,000 for donor egg and my part. My insurance will not pay for anything. I dont know how people pay their bills. Before they start anything on me I have to pay the 18,000 up front. So good luck to one and all.

I know coming up with funding was a pain. My insurance paid for some of the medications for me but not my donor.

The worst is when you pay all this money and it doesn't work. Going through the emotions are hard enough but add paying thousands of dollars on top of that and it really sucks.

Hang in there.

Heart

It depend on the Fertilty clinic. At Duke Fertility it is 10k that not including the donor drugs or your. I think they should give people a break. Insurance companies should pay more. good luck

We live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Donors here generally receive $7k with those of Indian/Asian decent getting a bit more. Also, repeat donors tend to receive and extra $500. We figure 1 cycle using a donor including retrieval, meds, the agency fees as well as the medical clinics fees, we're looking at $20K+. It is a bit crazy!!
