SPerm Donor Question

This may seem like a strange question, but I would really appreciate some feedback. I am using donor sperm for IUI. I have had one, but arrived... I am having a second IUI done later this cycle and wanted to know if anybody has switched donors after a failed IUI... I do not have any reason to believe there is anything wrong with the first one, the doctor said the sperm was great. Just wondering if any of you ladies had a change of heart after using a donor once...
THANKS!

Just do whatever makes you comfortable. If you think by not switching, you would always wonder "what if?" if you don't get pg, then I would switch, just for peace of mind.

We are using DS as back up this cycle (hoping not to have to use it)...we chose donor that has kids already. Makes me feel good to know that he can reproduce.

Good Luck!

i used donor too. I had bought six vials. They used two vials for 3 iui's but the counts were awesome. I only changed when I had to go thru the 4th one.

It is all in how u feel about your donor. If you have the what if question like Junebug says do what makes u happy. Good Luck..

Thank you ladies for sharing your experience! I stuck with the original donor! Not that I know him, but I too liked the fact that his sperm had already resulted in pregnancy! Choosing donor sperm is not an easy thing to do...
I appreciate the advice, and feel very peaceful about my decision to stick with the same guy.
Later today I am having an HSG and hoping I will be one of those women who conceive shortly thereafter...

Deej,
My husband and I are also using donor sperm due to a genetic problem he has. We have had 4 unsuccessful IUI rounds and have asked the question of whether to change donors or not. We spoke with our advisor at the clinic and they felt that we should continue with the original one chosen. He as well had prior pregnancies. We may go to IVF now but still will probably stay with original donor. Much luck to you!! So glad to share this experience with others because I have very few friends that have had these problems. Take care!
