Kristen - I'm assuming you wouldn't have immediate results from yesterday's testing. But I'm thinking of you and would love to hear that you're doing ok. -B

Tia - I can't wait for your ultrasound on the 2nd - that is going to fly. I am going to write a thank you note and buy a simple bracelet from Tiffany's for our donor. We can leave it with the nurse the day before the retrieval and they will give it to her. It is just a small token of our sincere gratitude for all that she is doing for us.

I finally got my schedule and I start Lupron on 7/2 (that really is a big day around here!) and the donor's retrieval is tentatively scheduled for 7/30 with a transfer on August 4th. That is two days before what would have been my due date so I am hoping it is a good sign. I am really excited to finally have a schedule (I am a big planner).

My only issue right now is that my BIL is getting married on 7/5 at 6:30 pm and the rehearsal is 7/4 starting at 7:00 pm and I don't know how I am going to transport the Lupron which needs to be refrigerated and give myself shots in the bathroom. To make things worse, it is black tie so I am supposed to wear a gown. We don't want to share the fact that we are doing a cycle right now (we told way too many people last time) so I don't know what to do. My DH thinks I should just bag the whole thing but I know that will raise some eyebrows with his family. Has anyone had a similar situation, and do you have any thoughts on what we should do?

Brigit - sounds like things are off to a great start - I'm glad you made it safely to CR. You are in my thoughts.

Laurie - That's fabulous that you've got a schedule. I know exactly what you mean by finding some peace in knowing the dates. I'm also a planner, and even when I didn't have dates yet, I'd map out what the dates would be if . . .

About the lupron, it's a bummer that you'll have just started it, but really taking it with you won't be a huge deal. I transported mine in one of those soft insulated lunchboxes with an ice pack, and managed to fit in shots at lots of events (though I'll admit none involved wearing a gown). It needs to be cool, but not ice cold or anything. For one shot, I left the pack in the rental car and at the right time snuck off and gave myself the shot by the dim dashboard light when we were out of town celebrating a friend's 40th. I thought it would all be so obvious, but no one noticed anything.

BTW, if you're flying for this event, you should get a note from your doctor to show the TSA folks at the airport. I found only one airport even looked in the bag, but just in case.

Laurie- I was going to suggest the same thing as Bethany. Use ice packs and a lunch tote. Sneak off to the car and hike up your dress and let DH do it. Then if anyone catches you and asks what you are doing, you can say "Making a baby." They will think you were doing the old bump and grind method, while only you know the truth.

Laurie, congrats on getting a schedule. Time will fly by now!!! My Lupron must have been different because I did not have to keep itr refrigerated. I heard others talk about having to keep it in the fridge so I called the doctor and pharmacy and they both told me it didn't need to be..hummmm. I also only took one shot in the morning. So I can't really give you any advice on what to do... Can you change the time of your injection?

Laurie, congrats on your schedule! I'm also a planner, I like all my ducks in a row. I had some of the same issues, it seems that there were all kinds of events I had to attend. I used the insulated lunch totes also (great minds think alike) it worked great. I got used to giving myself the injections, just about anywhere. The worst was last Saturday in between my son and husbands hockey game's (no time to run home) my husband had to give my PIO shot in the referee locker room! It was no huge deal, we went in, did it and I limped back out(he,he)
