Hotdogs or hamburgers - that's hysterical! I cannot wait to hear what you're having, Shelley!

Sorry I forgot to post yesterday on this thread... My second beta came back at 474 (first was 181 at 8dp5dt), so it more than doubled in 48 hours. YEAH! It's starting to feel a bit more real... Still no discernable symptoms, though, so it's hard to believe anything's happening down there, you know?

Kay, only two more days to go! How are you holding up?

Hot dogs and hamburgers.... I've never heard that before.... how cute!

Kristen- I am doing okay. I just need to know my number!!! I keep overanalysing everything from lines not getting darker to not feeling pregnant. I have hope, but I want confirmation with BIG Beta numbers! I will make it to Thursday. Our minds can be our worst enemies. I am going to change that today and just TRUST!!

Congrats on the great big beta Kristen!! Looks like a really strong pregnancy!

Kay try not to go crazy. I have a good feeling about this. Some of those tests never get dark. I tried one after I knew I was pregnant and it was very faint and I was very pregnant!!

Thanks for the encouragement Shelley. I actually feel pretty positive. I think it is just that I've had so many disapointments. But stories like yours sure give me hope.

You're doing great, Kay! You've retained [most of] your sanity :-) and you're less than 48 hours away now. Yippee!!! I have a feeling (dunno why) that you're prego with twins, so I'll try not to feel jealous when your first beta on the same cycle day is double mine!

Hey, I have a question for you... when you experienced your ectopic pregnancy, what were your symptoms? The only symptom I've had since 6dp5dt is this very odd warm/burning sensation in my lower right abdomen. It doesn't hurt at all, but 'burning' is the best adjective since it's a constant warmth in one particular area. No shooting pains or pulling, etc. It's a little lower than where I'd guess my right ovary to be, but I'm not great at anatomy, to be fair... The nurse worried me a bit yesterday when she discussed the rare possibility of ectopic (unrelated to my cycle; she was reading from a script). She said she'd seen only 2 cases in the 5 years at this clinic. I had no idea that was even possible with IVF. I mean, how the heck would the embie get over there?? Is it common for IVF transfers? Any insight you can share from your frustrating experience would be very much appreciated... Man, oh, man, if it's not one worry it's another, eh?!

Kristen- I too was told ectopic is rare with IVF. It does happen though. For some reason the embryo floats out the end of the uterus into the fallopian tube. Sometimes it is due to damaged tubes, but as in my case a reason was never discovered. I did have both tubes ligated at time of surgery so a tubal wouldn't be possible again.
I didn't have ANY symptoms! No pain any way. I did have spotting, a fairly low first Beta and my Beta numbers did not double as expected. The numbers were within a viable pregnancy level however. I just had a terrible uneasy feeling though.
I had an u/s at 6weeks 5 days and the pregnancy was discovered to be in the tube. After surgery dr. told me I was about two days from rupturing.
Don't torment yourself with worries of this. This is rare. My clinic said they have only had a couple of them..... lucky me.
I think with your first number being so great you have nothing to worry about!
Put all the scarey thoughts out of your head and enjoy..... you are !
Kay

Thank you, Kay... That does help. I know I need to just relax and enjoy being pregnant but you know having been through what you have, how hard that really is!

Hang in there, Kay. 48 hours to go, then you get the "official" BETA numbers. Not that they'll matter. You're preggers and you know it.

Now everyone sing!

If you're preggers and you know it, clap your hands! (very softly)

If you're preggers and you know it, clap your hands! (very softly)

If you're preggers and you know it, then your belly soon will show it,

If you're preggers and you know it, clap your hands! (very softly)

Thanks Kristen! Did I see in the Feb thread you could be getting an U/S tomorrow?! That would be very exciting! I don't even know who I will have as an ob yet. My DH is a medical rep and talked to an ob yesterday who he thinks we should go to. i really want to know if we are dealing with twins before I make a decision. If we are blessed with two I want a dr who specializes in high risk.
I'll know my results by 2pm Pacific Time tomorrow. I can't wait. This has been the longest 10 days of my life.
Kay

I'll try to get my OB/GYN (she's my regular gyno but she's an OB, too) to do an u/s on Friday afternoon. She's a fantastic gyno and she's delivered 2 of my friend's babies. She loves doing u/s's and will probably insist on doing one right then when I show up to surprise her with the good news (I hope!). I'm counting on only one bean, but you're right to reserve your decision until you know how many you're carrying.

Hi all. I'll write quickly because I'm in the hotel business office, and someone's lurking to get onto the computer. But I wanted to say good luck to you tomorrow, Kay. I'm sure you'll be getting a great number. I'll be thinking of you. And Kristen, enjoy getting your early u/s. (btw, I think this would be way too early to feel an ectopic - you're probably just having small uterus stretching twinges is my guess).

I hope everyone's well and I can't wait to hear Kay's news tomorrow. B

Thanks, Bethany - I'll take all the good ideas to help calm my nerves I can get these days! I didn't realize you were an ectopic victim, too... Way too much of that in the past - probably means statistically low for any of us on this cycle! :-)
