cheri, I like ur humour !!

secaly, you are in Canada, but the donor are in USA, if that mean you will fly to USA or donor will fly to canada? if I have to fly to USA, I have to apply my canadian passport right away.

Have to go to work, best wishes to everyone.

Actually I don't fly I will be driving. Its about 5 hours from here and I am doing all my monitoring here in Ottawa and my donor is doing her monitoring in her hometown and at the end we will both drive to the clinic which is at about 5.5 hours from her and we pay her travel etc. We didn't want to deal with canadian clinics cause we definitly wanted to go the ED route. You still don't need a passport to drive to the US but I do have one and so does my hubby. So not a problem. I might bring my eldest daughter with me and might get a passport for her now just in case but no really needed until june of 2009 for driving through the borders.

Lia--Actually, make sure your doctor does look all over "in there." My doctor declared that we had one baby, and then found the "empty" sac, then the yolk sac, and then lo-and-behold, look there's another baby hiding behind the first one. I was reading in one of my umpteen baby books this morning that a couple went in for their (first and only) ultrasound at 20 weeks. They didn't want to find out the gender of the baby, but the technician let the info slip. He was so flustered that he missed the second baby. They found out they were having twins 20 minutes before their emergency C-section. So, look, look, look.

Hi everyone!! I'm sorry I haven't been very talkative. I have been lurking and enjoying everyone's success stories.
Congratulations on all the BFP's to all the newbies. The girls here are a great support.

waitingforbabies - I'm also asian and my RE said the wait for an asian egg donor would be about 5 months and sometimes could be 2 years if I used my clinics donor pool. He suggested I look at outside agencies too. I was able to find my donor through an outside agency in just under 2 months but I live in California where there is a bigger asian population.

Talking Finally!

We're finally moving on! We've been at this stage since March. After waiting for chromosomes twice and a couple of dropped communications, we finally connected, and we will be looking at the donor list tomorrow!

I hope that we can find someone who would be a good match and would be available for an October transfer. I teach, and I'll have a down time then. I wouldn't have another good time until April. Because my students are adults, we don't have traditional substitute teachers.

My u/s is now scheduled for Monday. If the doctor tells me there's on one bean in there, I'm going to insist he keep searching until he finds the second one. "Everyone I know on 'the board' thinks it's twins, doc... That other little guy has to be in there some place! We're never wrong!"

ROFLMAO, Yes please be sure and let the doc know we have all become experts at this.

Helene - I would run this all by your RE before you buy your donor's medication. I'd hate to have you purchase something that you couldn't use. A couple of months ago, I had mentioned that I had 800 U of unopened Follistim left from an IUI cycle. They indicated that it couldn't be used for the "protection of the donor." They require that they order the meds that the donor takes to ensure their quality. I agree with you that it would be nice if the cost of these things were lower.

Birgit...

Just as I expected they would, my doctor’s office just called and told me they CANNOT do anything (tests/ultrasounds/Rx’s) that relate to any procedures outside of Kaiser. I’m ready to just go through the roof. Was your ob/gyn helpful with getting your pre-travel care done? It’s ridiculous that I’m going to have to pay cash for these simple things that my doctor could do, if not for Kaiser’s policies. So I need to see an ob/gyn and I thought maybe you could refer me to yours or recommend someone in the Valley? Thanks for any help.

Waitingforbabies - I want to second what Sanda said - if you're close to California, it seems the Asian donor pool is significant. You may want to look in this region.

Lia - Hi back atcha. (ooh! I've wanted to use that icon for a while. it felt good. )

Shellie.....I'm sorry that you're having so much trouble! What about like a Urgent Care place? I know they do them here.

I just got my progesterone level back and it was 28.2.....yippee! I've always had trouble maintaining a safe level to maintain my pregnancy so this is great news! My doctor monitors this pretty close for me so this was a first.

We had to go back to the PIO cause my body didn't absorb the other way it was made at all. Not sure why but whatever works....

Secaly- I think you should double check about buying your donor's meds too. I have a ton of Menopur left that I can't use and they said they had to order it and it was illegal for them to allow me to give them mine. I also don't know my donor so I couldn't just send it to her. If you have a close friend or something as your donor, you may be able to do it still.

I see your and their point. It would still be ok though to get it from them cause all mine will be covered so its already a start.

thanks for the tip...
