Chima - Yes I can understand your anticipation... what an ordeal... this can be so exiting. Way to go girl... try and just be peaceful and enjoy the journey.

Nathalie - I am glad you got your med so you will be ready when you finally get your schedule way to go.

(sorry my posts are so long!)

Well wishes to all you pregnant and holding strong – I love seeing all the new betas and first u/sounds, I remember the excitement when I went through that and I really feel great for all of you knowing how special that is.

Lia – I’m so happy that little one is hanging on so hard, I’m thinking and praying for you every day.

Angie – I hate that when you accidentally erase – so I do most of my posts on Word doc then cut and paste – here’s to a quick 2WW and STICK VIBES!

Kate – I know that has to be stressful knowing it’s pushing its way into bad timing. But it will be what it is and whatever day it is, try to just focus on the implanting, not where you’re supposed to be, have to stay stress free during this! It will work out. I always say don’t stress about something until the actual time you have to start stressing. (yea, sure)

Sandy – the 2WW is awful! I found a book I want to read so I’m going to try to read it (find the time) when I have my 2WW and take my mind somewhat off the wait.

Teresa – Doesn’t it feel good to take charge and get something done faster – good job! I hope your results come back nothing major and nothing to hold you back.

Natalie – glad your mock went well – and starting your meds – you’re getting close now – how long on lupron before starting your patches, etc., and if you don’t mind could you PM me as to the costs? I’m trying to get my fees chart (I’m a chart person, chart every cost for everthing) down so I know what to put aside in my paychecks between now and then. Thx

Everyone else – hope everyone has a good weekend!

I purchased our plane tickets yesterday for Czech Republic. I sat and stared at that SUBMIT button for 10 minutes and then knowing it would time out soon I had to hit it, but I almost threw up. 3 roundtrip tickets to the other side of the world, I’ve never been out of the US. It was the first big money ding for our adventure, and boy is it real now. Now I just wait for my cycle to start (probably last week of September) and then wait for mid cycle to go in to have my lining checked, etc. My RE said I may not have time to do the BCPs since my last cycle threw me off and I may just only do the Lupron and go from there. This is all so confusing to me!

And also, does anyone understand the PGD testing process as to what day they test, and how long it takes, I’m getting conflicting things online and I’d like some clarification. You can PM me, thanks!

I was posiive for blood clotting and preclampsia disorder so they put me on baby asprin and blood thinners.

Shelly why would you do PGD when using donor since the donors are so young. I think they do it when the embryo has so many cells.

Well Iam finally off all progestronr, yea!!!

irishann - what kind of blood clotting disorder do you have? I'm being tested for antiphospholipid antibodies which is an immune/clotting problem. My RE said it is treated with heparin injections and baby aspirin. Congratulations on being off progesterone shots!!

Annie - that's great you're done! We're doing PGD: 1) to rule out everything so I can forego an amnio - I have a friend that lost her twins because of the amnio, and mine was very scary, so this way I'll feel secure only doing screening; and 2) for the option of sex selection.

Hi Sagermom. I could be wrong, but I think sex selection is illegal in CZ and they won't do it at Reprofit. Have you talked to Stepan about it?

Sanda, I have lost 15 babies and the Dr's did all sorts of tests and could not tell me why I kept miscarrying so I went to a Genetics(SP) and she did a blood test that she was sure I had before and it came back positive, it is MTHFR.

Sagermom, I see why you are doing PGD, do they have a Dr. on staff or will they have to send them to amother lab?

Hi Birgit,

Mag was the one that told me it could be done, and I just went back to my emails from her to confirm I read it right, yep. I also just emailed the clinic. If it's available we'll do it, but we're doing it anyway to rule out any possible problems. I've lost one child already, I could not handle progressing in a pregnancy only to find out there were problems. I would prefer to have a girl so my daughter, who lost her twin sister, could have a sister again, but believe me, my goal is a healthy baby and a sibling for her and I won't throw a boy back!

Annie - I'm so sorry you've had so many losses. Are you saying you have some kind of condition that should have been detected before and wasn't? If so, how heartbreaking and frustrating. Sorry, I don't know what those initials stand for, but it's treatable?

Annie - I'm so sorry for all of your loses. I'm sorry they did not diagnose you sooner so that they could have prevented the miscarriages. I think I have read about MTHFR and that it is treated with heparin shots, baby aspirin and extra folic acid. Well, I know this is your time and you will have a healthy baby

Hello everyone, how are you all.

Shellie - why are you going to Czech for ED/IVF? I don't remember why? I too would like to know what they put in there I would like to have a girl too so I would like to make sure I put at least one girl in there. So I don't if my clinic the CNY does it but lets say I had 5 boys and 1 girl I would definitly want to put the girl in there for sure.

I went scrapbooking yesterday, it was fun.

Helene - Hi. We're going to the CZ because spending $34K in the US just isn't worth the gamble for us; getting 2 tries in CZ for $15K is. We hope to adopt and are hoping the program in Vietnam opens up again - we were shut out. If we risk all our money on something that may not work, we'll have no adoption money left, this way we can still adopt later, but not if we're out over $30K. And after much research - IVF/DE is no different there than here, so it was really an easy choice. As for PGD, I looked into CYN, and they DO sex selection there. Just ask Pati about it.

You have a strong beta too. Don't worry my boobs never really got sore like they did with my other pregnancies this patch , pio cycle must be different. This time it feels totally different. Its hard to visualize. I just feel like puking all day unless I take the vitamin b6 3x a day, pressure down low and really tired all the time. Call your re 2morrow and see what they say. We count sacs This Wed. 9-10 and I'm hoping for 1 or 2 at the most. Its too early to see heartbeats until the 18 or so they said.
