You certainly are on your way. So glad your donor is working out and hopefully you will be progressing to your cycle soon.

Bethany--congratulations! This is such an exciting time, waiting for the ER and ET. The time will go so much more quickly than you probably think. It seemed to go by in a flash! You know, we were told the same thing about our donor, and I really feel that our nurse was genuine when she said that also. As far as I'm concerned, they don't HAVE to go all out and tell us things like that. I am sure that if the donor is just so-so, they probably say that they're "nice" (which they are, just by the fact that they are donating) and leave it at that. Sounds like you got some really good news about your donor. That makes the journey that much better!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss Lucy. I have only had on ET so I can not answer your question from experience but I would think that your chance of success after miscarriage with DE would be really good when your doctor gives you the healthy go ahead for another try. I will pray the next cycle is a big success!!

Justine your beta is great!!! I think you are having twins!!! Wow that is a really strong beta! I can't wait until your u/s!

Becca, How wonderful for you to donate eggs!! They must be really healthy eggs. Do you know if the recipients triplets survived? I have been hearing many sad stories of premature births, deaths and life long disabilities. It scares me a lot. All I can do is pray for healthy babies. Good luck with your next cycle. I pray it gives you a little miracle baby.

bd711, That is great news about your donor and the progress that you have made. Before you know it you will be having your ET. I pray that it goes well but I already have a feeling it will be a success. Using and ED really increases the success of ivf. Take care of yourself until the ET. I can't wait to hear how it goes. Keep us posted!!

Shelley,

I follow your progress closely as you were so supportive to me regarding the DE process at the beginning. I am looking forward to hearing your news following your second U/S.

I'd welcome twins, I really would. Honestly, I still have not comprehended that this actually worked. Having an U/S will help, I'm sure.

I was saddened initially to hear that my RE felt I could not use my own eggs for IVF. The DE is daunting, but completely worth it. It does seem the ladies here with DE have good results.

It was expensive, we put all we had into this, but it is working and if I had gone to another RE who may have allowed me to use my eggs, we could have run into more disappointments and wasted efforts. So, I recommend the process.

Also, Shelley, I'm really pulling for you and all your babies!!

Hi ladies. I'm having a bit of a stressful DE week. One of the blood tests that our donor took came back positive (in a bad way). Apparently it's a test that has a ridiculously high rate of false positives. The nurse couldn't tell me what the test was for specifically due to privacy (though that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, since we have no idea who she is!). The definitive test is very expensive (we're talking another $500), but the nurse told us it would be a result that would determine whether or not she could be a donor at all. So, of course, we said they should do the test. It takes 5 days to get the results - which means we'll know today or Monday.

So, in part I'm worried that after we've become so attached that we may not be able to use her. I've had my mind completely wrapped up in this calendar. I should know by now not to get too attached, but I can't help it. This is one of those reasons to use a repeat donor.

But, also, we've been so stressed for our donor herself. She's a young, healthy woman who has taken a test she wouldn't have taken if she wasn't doing this for us. Now she has to be concerned all week that she's got some condition that may impact her ability to have kids and who knows what else. We send peaceful, hopeful wishes her way, but of course we can't do it personally. We just hope she can feel our thoughts.

Anyway, I'm pretty confident that the test will come back negative and we'll be ready to move forward. But, until then, I'm on edge.

wow, bd711, your note was very inspiring. I hope I would be able to muster as much compassion as you have if I were in the same position. I'm sorry to hear of this bump in the road but as you said, it's probably a false positive, so I'll be sending best wishes your way.

Good luck!

Justine, I am so excited about you having twins. What a double blessing!!! In the beginning it really hurt me not to be able to use my own eggs but now I really can't see it any other way. If I was younger it would still be harder to accept. Now when I mention or think of myself going through ivf ... the DE does not immediately come to mind. I just think it is such a blessing to be able to get pregnant !!! Before ED was an option I honestly believed I would never know what it would be like to be pregnant with a child. I am just so happy everything is working out for you.

ED is really expensive but the success rates for each cycle is high!!

bd711. I hope your donor's test turns out ok. I am so sorry that you have to get through with this. I would drive me crazy not knowing what they were testing for but you seem to be handling it with compassion and understanding. I remember feeling nervous when our doctor was doing our donors medical even though she had been a successful donor. We liked her so much and spent months looking for her... Let us know how it does. I will be thinking postive thought for you!!

Hi all. Just an update - our donor's test came back negative! Phew! I'm so relieved, excited, ready. . . .

Because we didn't know yet about the test results, we spent last night looking to see whether there were other donors we could get excited about. Not surprisingly, the whole thing got us pretty down in the dumps.

But today is a different story! We're getting going. Tonight I start BCPs, and my heart is jumping with the thought that we're starting this trip finally. I'm so inspired by the twins, the triplets, all of the babies coming our way on this thread.

I hope everyone's having a good week so far, and if you're in a SuperTuesday state, go vote!

Hi everyone, thought I'd check in. Bethany again congrats on moving forward in your process!

I am less than three weeks away from my ET. I am still doing Lupron injections and am wearing three estrogen patches. Next wed I go in to see how my lining is shaping up. Also next week we will be getting our first donor repport. The following week should be ER! I am getting very excited. I don't like wishing time away, but I really wish I could just wake up tomorrow and have the 2ww over with. Oh the anticipation is killing me.
Blessings to you all wherever you are in the process.
Kay
