I second that - you're going to be such a good mom! These little beans will be so cherished for everything you've been through...

Interesting to know about the 4000 calories - I wouldn't have even thought that possible for one person! Best of luck to you... You're going to do great!

Shelley - 4000 calories - WOW! I imagine your dislike for meat may fade as your need for protein increases. And I'm assuming that the nutritionist gave you lots of ways to get those calories and not just the chip prohibition. I'm sure you'll be able to slip in a few chips between protein shakes.

I "third" that you are a fabulous mom - already feeding the whole family!

Awe thanks girls. I am not sure if I will every get up to 4000 calories. Right now it is tough eating 2000!!! I must say it is nice to not have to feel guilty about drinking chocolate milk (unless sugar becomes an issue)

My perinatologist appt was cancelled today so I am a bit bummed. I will be seeing him next week for the first time. It will be interesting to hear what he says. My RE has been a bit quiet so far except for when he was telling me about the risks of triplets and then gave me the talk about SR (which I do not like) He is a great doctor and we really like him because he is very personable but he just had to give us the doctor talk.

Shelley sounds like you're a trooper. I was so sick in the beginning that I know I didn't get what I should have. I'm still having trouble with food. I eat small meals but I'm sure it's not nearly as much as what I should for the twins. I can't help it though, if I eat too much, I get the worst indigestion.

Wow Sandy! You are up to 18 weeks, that is great!! I have been getting a bit of heartburn. A few days ago I had this great idea that chili would be a nice healthy meal...wrong. It was too spicy and I couldn't eat it all. Have you tried ensure or protein shakes? I force myself to have one of those when I do not feel like eating. I hope I get that 'pregnancy hunger' to help keep me going!

I think smoothies, shakes or juicing whole fruits and veggies would be nice. You could add protein powder to those too. I know when I don't feel like eating something sometimes it is good to drink something. You two mommies of multiples keep up the good work.

Thanks ladies, I know I can't believe I'm at 18 weeks already. I actually do drink a Boost everyday (simillar to ensure) however I've been concentrating on drinking the ones with more calories. I drink it along with my lunch, so I'm not using it as a meal replacement. They do have one with more protein, but when I drank those I had indigestion.

Shelley I did the chilly thing too and oh boy did I pay for the rest of the day. I thought I'd be okay since I had some at the beginning of my pregnancy and it was fine. Now I'm packing the Tums where ever I go.

Good luck on your cycles ladies. Shelley continue with the great work.

Hugs,

Thanks Kristen! I can't wait until Wednesday. I really hope we get an answer. We are dying to know.

Good luck with your cycle, and remember quality verses quantity, although it looks like you've got a pretty good number going for you, we only had 10.

Hugs,

I got a report about our donor.... 20+ follies. It looks like a Tue ER. My transfer should be on Sun the 24th. I just have one problem. The 24th is my DD birthday and we are having a big family dinner to celebrate all the Feb and March b-days..... AT MY HOUSE! Also we are not telling anyone about this procedure so I can't rest without giving this away. What do I do? Has anyone else had a transfer and not rested the day of? HELP!

Hey Kay. First off, congrats on so many follies! That's terrific. I'm sure Tuesday will be here before you know it.

About you not being able to rest the day of the transfer - our clinic doesn't have the rest requirement. The day of my IVF transfer, the doctor said I shouldn't take out the trash or other majorly physical chores, but that the Halloween party we were headed out to that night was fine. You'll probably have to enlist DH to be super-helpful in doing all the heavy lifting, but being social should be absolutely fine. And use it as an excuse to keep the party low on the prep and high on just seeing everyone. And all the while, you and your DH will have your fabulous little secret.

Hey Kay - 20+ eggs, that's FANTASTIC! Tuesday will be here before you know it and then it'll be smooth sailing until Sunday...

As for the day of the ET, maybe you could make it a secret game between you and your dh. Since you'll be PUPO, just pretend you're pregnant and have him wait on you, help you with guests, etc. To the rest of your family/friends, tell them you're not feeling well (or even that you have cramps - that'll shut up the men at least - lol). You really need to just sit (lounge/recline if you can get away with it) all day, versus running around playing hostess... Maybe you can tell just one family member or friend so they can help you prepare and host the party?

This is such an important time in your cycle - you've come so far and been through so much. I'm less worried that some light activity could affect implantation... it could be just me, but I'd be more worried, having ridden this rollercoaster of emotions so many times, that I'd be afraid of second guessing myself later. Even though it'd be unlikely to be caused by one day I know I'd drive myself crazy wondering. Sorry if that was too much honesty...take it with a grain of salt. You'll do what is right for you and regardless of next Sunday, I'm convinced it's going to work for you! And you'll be PUPO finally!

Update

Ok, update on our cycle...

My lining is 7.7 - not as thick as I'd hoped, but still in the right range. I'll continue on 4 vivelle dots to hopefully thicken it up. I gave blood today so hopefully my estrogen is where it needs to be. I'm surprised my lining wasn't thicker as the past 4 IVF cycles I've had stellar lining. Guess it goes to show how time does affect this process (it's been two years since my first IVF and 1 year since my last IVF).

I 'triggered' tonight, along with the donor and I start progesterone tomorrow am. The ER will be Sunday am. DH has to give me my prog shot then head into the clinic by 8am while I'll be sleeping in at the hotel... Even with that it's still no comparison to everything we have to go through, right girls??

I confirmed the dates of my beta: Mar 1 and Mar 4... Please, oh please, oh please...

Kay congrats of the donors 20+ follies!! That's a tough one about the party on the day of the transfer. I agree that DH should help out so that you can relax as much as possible. The good thing is that it is at your house so you can sit down when you want in your own comfortable chair.

My RE instructions were, day of transfer complete bed rest, followed by 2 days of moderate rest at home. I was pretty obsessive about following my doctors orders. I didn't want to do anything that I would regret later if it did not work out. What did you RE say about rest? If you go ahead with the party and want to keep it from others, I would plan it with your DH so you can sit for most of the party. You can always play sick... Whatever you decide remember it really is your day to take care of yourself!

Kristen that is exciting about the ER is only two sleeps away!!! This is going to be an exciting time! for some great eggs!!

Shelly, How did you choose your donor? One of the RE's here told me to go to egg donor.com, but i haven't yet.

it it amazing how 20 eggs diminshes to 3, isn't it?

I don't think my doctor gave me a percentage of me succeeding with my own eggs. but I think with 1 frozen im in the low success bracket, but it only takes one, so I'm hoping for my one to stick.

hugs
