Hopein09 – I am glad you are not having those nasty side effects of the Lupron. The good news is you’re on your way to a successful cycle! Don’t worry, those cramps mean AF is coming!

Malloned10 – Sounds like the Lupron has not reared its ugly effects on you either, just the first good sign in a good cycle!

LGB – I am keeping you in my thoughts. I hope you had a safe trip, and best wishes on a most successful ET!!

Wishing – Congratulations on being PUPO with twins!!! How long are you on bedrest? Don’t worry neither one of those little embies fell out, you are probably feeling them nestle in!

Melanie – Oh congratulations on a wonderful ultrasound. I can only imagine how you felt seeing your little one!

Teresa – Patience is a virtue they say . . . . . but I am without so I can only sympathize with your wait. You're moving up at a good pace, and the economy may work in your favor as you keep movin on up! It will be here before too long, hang in there!

Jak40 – I met with my RE and he told us about the potential donors, and not much about them actually. We picked one based on age and past success. She was not available, so we had to move on to choice number two. You know I had forgotten all about that until I started writing to you about it. We picked a second donor and off we went. It all seemed surreal until we got to the ET day. It wasn’t until then that I really got excited! But I worry a lot and was very very emotional during our first donor egg cycle. It does get better and you’ll soon forget all this worry, remember it’s a journey and you should celebrate every step you take. This is just one step.

Godiva4me – Phew, at least the bloodwork is over! The time has come and you’re starting your fabulous journey!

Twilight – Did they use an orange to give you shot training? My RE had a rubber thing that my DH stuck a needle into. I think it was more important to show him where to give the shot, but we, too, went through the training. So glad AF showed up, now you can really get started!!!

Faith1186 – Try not to worry (I know easier said than done) but keep up the positive thoughts and good things will come on Friday. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

NMSOwife – Congratulations!!! I am sure you’re going to have a high beta on Saturday!!

Meghan – tomorrow’s the big day!!! Bring home the BFP!!!

Kate - Is your excursion tomorrow or Friday? I don't recall where you live, so I am not sure if you are experiencing sunny warm weather or a snow storm. But either way, I am sure you are looking forward to seeing the light of day. Sending best wishes to you and the girls!

to all!

Lupron was a piece of cake!!!

Couldn't wait to sign on this morning and report that I did my first lupron shot with zero issues!

It was so much simpler than the PIO, and I manged those fine.

Thanks for all of your support. I am going to try to stay hydrated since that is what the GA ladies think kept their headaches away. I am prone to headaches anyway, so crossing my fingers that this won't contribute to more!

Meghan- Good luck for the 100th time on your BETA today! We are for you!

FYI: Kate's appt. isn't until afternoon, west coast time! I'm sure she'll drop in and let us know how some outside freedom was like! Good Luck, Kate!

Hope everyone is doing well! It looks like next week will be a busy one with U/S's !

I'll check in tonight .... have a terrific Thursday, everyone!

Godiva-I was thinking about you this AM when I was doing my Lupron shot, I'm glad yours was a breeze! I knew it would be..especially since you're a PIO expert!

praying-Thanks for the support! I was reading your signature line..I hope you don't mind me asking, but do they have any idea why your previous cycles resulted in BFN (if it's none of my business, definitely feel free to tell me so!)

Meg-Thinking about you this AM...can't wait to hear your beta results!!!!

Wishing – Congrats on being PUPO with twins!!!

Jak40 –I’m glad that you finally received the profiles and have chosen a donor. I was also a little less thrilled than I had expected when I finally made a decision on a donor, but that quickly changes once your cycle begins. Give it time and the excitement will come.

Faith1186 –Stay positive and focus on the fact that it only takes one. I will be praying for you.

Kate – I’m so excited for you and your pregnancy. I wish you and your girls all the best.

FriedEggs- Congrats on your BFP. . Good luck on your U/S.

Melanie- Congrats on the great ultrasound. It must have been amazing and I can’t wait to experience it myself. I wish you the very best for your pregnancy.

Teresa- You will be choosing a donor before you know it and that is when things will really start moving. I will be crossing my fingers for you.

Godiva4me- Glad everything went well with your Lupron injection. Time will fly from this point forward.

Twilight- The injections may seem nerve wrecking, but once you start it’s a piece of cake. Your DH will do great!

Wishing everyone else the very best in wherever you are in this journey!

Kate- Your daughters will be here in about 6 weeks? Wow! Are you guys ready? Do you have their room(s) ready? You and Dude must be ecstatic!

Hope-I hope this is the last time you see AF for a long time too! I hope she makes her appearance soon.

Godiva- So happy to hear that your Lupron shot was easy! Those were the only shots I was able to do myself. DH had to do the rest. Definitely stay hydrated.

Twilight- Hooray for AF! Once you’re on the pill, this process seems to go quickly.

Meg- Best of luck today!! I can’t wait to hear the results.

LGB- We’re all anxious to hear how everything went. Please post when you can.

I hope everyone's cycles are coming along nicely!

I decided to give myself another day of rest. Luckily, I'm on spring break this week, so I don't have to worry about taking off of work. I was going to run errands today, but staying home and relaxing to make sure my little guys implant sounded like a better idea.

Hope- I'm feeling good, thanks for asking! I keep waiting to feel some kind of shooting pain so that I know implantation is happening! Anything I feel is, of course, getting overanalyzed.
My RE said to be a couch potato for 48 hours. But since I can, I'm just taking it easy for another day. I started a new book yesterday, so I'm sure I'll continue reading that.

Do you know how many days your RE will recommend?

I'm not sure what my RE recommends after ET yet. I know he prefers that I go directly home after ET vs going to acupuncture because I did ask about that. I was planning on going to acupuncture just prior and just after ET, but he said he would rather me go directly home afterward. I'll definitely ask him what he recommends.

Enjoy your day!

Talking A little more excited

Hi ladies, Im a little excited so I just had to post and share with someone as I cant get ahold of DH right now.

The coordinator just called me. She called the donor and the donor is ready to go. It looks like the ER/ET will be in mid to late May. I still dont completely understand how they get our cycles in line but whatever, as long as it works!!

jak: congrats! You'll be cycling around the same time as me! Do they have you going on the pill soon?

selenam1979 & prayingforamiracle: DH is more worried than I am. They didn't have an orange at the class, they had this rubbery like thing. They did give us a needle to practice with at home.

Everyone:
DH is worried about the pain from the progesterone (sp?) shots. He thinks I will be miserable. I told him I would ask about it. So, just how painful are the shots (during and after)?

He is also worried about hitting bone. The video we saw showed the shots being given way to high. Several people at the clinic commented on it. I keep telling him that it shouldn't be an issue.

Twilight - The PIO hurts a very little bit while you are receiving them but it is usually afterwards that they really hurt. ( Usually the day after.) I wont lie, it doesnt feel great but it will be worth it in the end. I used a smaller needle when DH gave me the PIO shots. It took longer for the meds to go in but not as painful for me. I would also have DH massage the area that he gave me the shot in. That helped and I also walked alot after the shot to keep the meds circulating. You will find all sorts of little "tricks" to help with the discomfort. Trust me, its not the end of the world. If it was, there wouldn't be 1000s of women doing IVF. I had to keep telling myself that prior to my first shot. I am a huge wimp when it come to needles and I feel I adjusted pretty well. You will too, dont stress over it.

I am already taking BCPs. I have to take the last one on 4/3 then call the coordinator when I get AF. She will instruct me of what to do after that. I am estimating that my transfer will be closer to the end of May. I will probably be a couple of weeks behind you.

Jak40-Congrats! I figured you would be more excited once your donor was confirmed. I was super excited when I found we were ready to go! I'm glad to hear you are feeling better about things.

Twilight-my husband is worried about hurting me too. They are sooo sweet. I had my nurse draw a circle with a sharpie on me so my DH (and I) would know exactly where the PIO should go. This will be my first cycle with PIO also and I am a little anxious about it also. I have also heard that warming the PIO prior (heating pad or body heat) helps and heating pad with massage at injxn sit afterwards helps too. These are all tips I've been told, but I'm not quite there yet.

Twilight- I just took my first progesterone shot this morning. I was expecting it to be really bad but I was pleasantly surprised. It was over before I knew it. The injection point is a little sore now but it's nothing that an ice pack for 5 minutes can't cure. You are your DH have absolutely nothing to worry about!
