Tina! Good luck with the last few days (almost down to hours) of you 2 week wait. Here'd hoping it's just the first of many (after you get your bfp, you'll be on your 2ww for an u/s, then your 2ww for another, 2ww to release to your ob, and so on and so on).

I love all the name talk. Cheryl, I work with a guy named Grady and he's such a sweet, smart, handsome guy - he's going to save us all from global warming some way or another. I don't think I could name a kid the same name as a co-worker, but I like that there might be other Gradys out there.

Lia - I really like Mars. Though Bram feels a bit dark to me - only because of the author. But I'm generally really fond of the names that are nicknames from the end of a longer name - like Liam from William. I say you should go with the solar system theme.

We are also on overload with girl names and come up blank for boys. So this conversation is helpful. The night before my beta, the name Aiden seemed to be all over my brain. Then the day of my beta, as I walked to the lab and back, for some reason the name Aiden Maxwell kept me company. It turns out there's a woman on these boards who had an Aiden in December and his middle name is Maxwell. She's kindly said I could copy her. We're Jewish, and at first the name felt too non-Jewish to me. Until I thought about Gan Eden - the Garden of Eden - as in paradise, and I just fell in love with it. Now I just have to convince DP.

Cheryl - Thanks for sharing about your name and the connection to your mother. Even though we may call you Cheryl now, we'll think of your mom when we see your screenname. That's really nice.

OK, I'm off to acupuncture. Hoping my acupuncturist tells my my pulse is very "slippery." B

I love this thread because it gives me so much hope. I read through the successes and feel like it IS possible.

As for me, we are going to be in a holding pattern for awhile. We spoke with the RE yesterday and she is calling in a prescription for prenatals for me. Our last RE didn't "believe" in them- did I mention that he was a butt head? Funny thing is, I am so excited to take them! It makes me feel like I am doing something in this process.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and all you out there rest and take care of yourself and the wee ones!

It is sooooooo possible!!! Success rates are so high. It is a great idea to start your prenatals. I saw one study that said starting a couple of months before you get pregnant is the best way to help prevent spina bifida. My sister was not able to keep her vits down early in her pregnancy and her 6mo old baby has a mild form of spina bifida. They are doing more testing on him, but it looks like he will be okay.
So know you are giving your future baby the best start possible be being proactive.
Can't wait to see you posting that BFP!!

I know I should be appreciating every moment, but I'll feel more like doing that at week 10.

I want to share something. We went out to dinner for DP's birthday last night with her 3 closest friends. DP decided that her close friends should know where we are in this pregnancy and also that we used donor eggs. That's fine by me - they are her support system, and she should be able to choose when to tell whom what. It was really nice to be open about what's going on and have no filter. But what I wanted to share was that DP started to talk to them about this site, and particularly this thread, and how great it's been for me. Hearing her description of it and what she sees from the outside was so wonderful. (Usually she seems not to even notice me on the site other than bugging me to get off line and come to bed and listening to my stories when folks need a little extra good thoughts and support). But she really appreciates that I've got you'all here in cyberspace. And I must say, she's right. You'all are really special, and I can't imagine what it would have been like to get to this point without you.

OK, sappy moment overwith. Have a great day all! B

Bethany- It sounds like you and DP have such a great relationship.... lots of mutual support. You are going to have one blessed babe!!

I read so many good things here and wish everyone the best. I am contemplanting taking a HPT but too scared, well we shall see mybe I'll cave in before tuesday 4/29.

Congrats on your transfer!!! Hoping to see a BFP soon. And BTW ask away..... questions are a good thing.... someone is bound to have an answer for you!

I sort of want to have a daughter to find that again -- but I'm happy with whatever He gives me.

By the way -- she passed away on Christmas Day (!)... it'll be 10 years this Christmas. And guess what? I'm due on Christmas Eve. This one just has to stick, right?

Then to me you will remain Dawner. That is a very special connection to your mom.

Wow- there was a flurry of activity over the past two days. I think I got caught up.
I love the name discussions! I haven't even talked names with DH yet. I think we have been to scared to. But, like most women, I have thought names.

Boy- Nathan Charles (after my dad)
Braden Lyle (after deceased grandpa)

girl- Neila Ruth (Neila is after grandparents last name O'neill and Ruth after grandma)
Victoria Sandra (Victoria because we were in India and had a village pastor pray for us to have a baby and he said he saw V_I_C_T_O_R_Y for us. Sandra after my mom) we would call her Torie)

Bethany - "Gan Eden"... Yes!!! I think that name is fantastic! It has a real sound and a real feel to it. I approve! (Like you were really waiting for mjy approval, right?)

Kay -- I like the names you're considering, because I like names that are attached to a meaning in the personal life. There is power behind them, and a history that the child can grow old with.

You girls have some great names picked out!!!! For boy names we are looking for something strong and manly but not too tough. I liked Aiden but it is one of the most popular names now and I wonder what it would be like to be in a classroom with a bunch of Aidens???? I also kind of like Luke but it is not very unique...... I think girl names are easier to pick out.

Dawner I lost my Mom 4 years ago and it still really hurts. She was like a best friend. I was really hoping that one of our babies would be girl because I would just love to have a special Mother/daughter relationship with my own daughter, that I experienced. We are pretty sure we are going with a first name of Tia and my Mother's name, Beatrice as a middle name.

Welcome Penbird and congratulations on your transfer!! You came to the right place to get lots of answers and support!! Good luck before long you will be pregnant!

I am new to this site. We did IVF with DE we did the transfer on April 14th with 3 embryos. Unfortunately we got the bad news on April 25th that we did not get pregnant. This is very very hard to take as we did not have any embryos to freeze.

I am just looking for some support through this difficult time

For those of you that got pregnant with IVF and DE congratulations. For those that are still TTC do not give up hope.

I am not sure what we are going to do next, both myself and my husband need to heel from this devasting news we got.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Donna, It is great that you found us here!! It is a great place to get support and chat with wonderful people. I am so sorry that your transfer was not sucessful. Using an ED can be such a gamble. They retrieved 25 eggs from my donor, 15 fertilized and only 3 made it to blasts, so we transferred them all. There are a couple girls who had a simular experience with having diminishing egg quantily and ending up with none to freeze.

Take care of yourself and take the time you need to heal.

Donna: A big WELCOME to you! I am very very sorry about the outcome of your transfer. This site has been a great comfort to me and I hope it will be the same for you.

Dawner: Your story about your name and your mom brought tears to my eyes.
Tina: Welcome . You and I had our transfer on the same day and I am currently 45. However, for some reason, I do not get to have my blood test until next Monday. Maybe I will call my nurse about that.

NOW, about me, I have to confess that I turned into a POAS JUNKY this weekend. On Saturday I got a faint line, then it disappeared after several hours. Then I read about that on the Internet and found out that could be a sign of a BFN. However, I could not let that stop me, so I purchased 2 separate brands that evening and took them yesterday afternoon and they both said ! BUT Both were faint lines! However, that was not good enough for me, so I took the digital this morning and it definately said "PREGNANT" . Praise the Lord! . NEVER in my life have I had a when I POAS! I have a whole week before the Beta so I am a little wacky today!

Donna - Welcome to our group. I'm so sorry to hear about how this cycle turned out. That's just so devastating. Our donor had 23 eggs, but they fertilized funky and by the transfer, we only had 2 - none to freeze. We're feeling very lucky that one of those took (so far - knock wood). But it was very touch and go for a while, as the women on this site can attest. And, to be honest, we'd hoped this process would bring us 2 children. So, I know the frustration of trying to figure out what to do next. Please lean on us for support. This group is really incredible. -Bethany

Janet - CONGRATS! I know your beta is far off, but it seems like they're doing it late. Today is 12 dpER, right? Your BFPs on the HPTs are for real! You're !

Kay - I love the story of how you got to the name Victoria. And that you had an Indian cheerleader all along this journey!

Lia - BTW, just to clarify - I wouldn't use the Gan part of Gan Eden - just the Eden - spelled Aiden. But as Shelley pointed out, I think, it's a pretty darned popular name. So it's probably just a thought rather than what we'd use.

I hope everyone's week is starting out well. B
