Shelley ... wow honey ... you look great that is so awesome that you have 3 little ones growing in your belly!

Dawner ... congrats on the twins ... i will keep praying for you and baby A & B

so my period is really really light ... is it because i started the bcp's on day one? any insight would be greatly appreciated

Hi all. Quick note before I head off to Phoenix - where it's apparently going to be 97 degrees out today!

Shelley - You look fantastic. You also look so comfortable for toting around 3 little guys - and really happy.

Tia - When I took BCPs my period was definitely different - delayed and it started differently than I was used to.

Dawner - Congrats! On the ultrasound and on your two little ones! I don't understand why your doc is concerned about baby A - lots of these guys seem to measure several days behind and they're just fine. Mine's been consistently 1 day behind, and the dr hasn't had any concerns. I think your dr must be prepping you for the worst so you can be excited when you prove her wrong (over and over).

Lia - 2 to 3 weeks isn't so much longer before you get your potential donor list. I'm very excited for you to get there.

OK, all, I'm off to Phoenix. I dared to ask my coworker (who I know has a sister who went through IF) to give me my PIO shot tonight. She graciously said she'd do it. It was a big deal for me to ask her - but I figured it'd be an even bigger deal for me to try to give myself the darned shot!

Tia, I was only on BCP for a short time...I had one period after I was done and it was very light. I think this is normal so I wouldn't be too concerned. I had been so long since I had taken BCP that it felt like the first time

Wow Bethany, try to stay cool in Phoenix!!! I have had the A/C on for the last couple of days because it has been hot here but 97 degrees is insane!

Oh, Tina, I am so sorry.

There are times, like this, when I honestly wish I could just hug some of you people.

((((Tina)))) <--- that is a virtual hug

Thanks for the hug and all your support. I was so devasted when I got the news while at work I could not hold my tears..I just took the rest of the day off to come home and sort things through.

I guess is one of those things you try and try and try then you start doubting yoursel..I don't want to sound negative but I just feel drained.

The Dr. instructed me to stop all the medications I was taking estrace tablets and progesterone injections everyday..whew in a way I am not going to miss the injections..mu buns were getting so sore .

I do have an option of doing another IVF with the frozen embryo(s) but I am not sure I want to do this right away. I asked the doctor if it makes any difference and he said no. But I just feel emotionally I should wait.

It's okay to sound negative, it's okay to not know if you want to go through it again right away. It's okay not to know how you feel or think. Period.

I will say prayers for you tonight, Tina, that your heart is eased through all this until you feel better and know what you want to do.

New to board -using a DE

Hi All,
I am new to this board and new to the whole IVF experience. My DH and I learned our chance of pg using my eggs is less than 2% - we've decided to go the route of using a DE. We had already been exploring this b/c of my age (41 yrs) and we are both more excited about becoming parents then the genetic makeup.

I've been on another IVF board and was a little discouraged bc of how many didn't get the BFP they had hoped. But then I found this board and I've been reading all your posts for the past few months. I can't believe how many have had GREAT results using a donor egg - it's incredible that we live in a time that this is even possible. Although I was disappointed that I couldn't use my own eggs, I'm also grateful that I have the option of using a DE!!

We are just in the learning stages and still need to do more reseach (and figure out financial aspepts - yikes!)

1. Can anyone give me some info on how to find the donor - what agencies are best?
2. How many donors will we have to choose from?
3. How much can we expect this will cost -including everything (meds, donor, ivf )
4. Is there usually a waiting period to get on the donor list? How long does it usually take once we decide to get started?

I've noticed many of you are on the west coast - I'm an east-coaster -philadelphia area.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be keeping all of you in my prayers.
Look forward to hearing about all your progress.
Ria
