KarenS-Good luck at your appt tonight. I would ask if they have any idea as to why this last cycle didn't work? I would also ask if they felt you needed any further testing..i.e. lining issue? genetic influence?, etc. and if you needed different meds during this cycle, like lovenox. you may have already had these questions answered, but I thought I'd throw them out there.

Today is my last day of BCP hoooooooooorah. May I never have to gain 100 lbs from BCP again. Suppression check is next Tuesday.

Good morning ladies!!! Happy Friday for those of us who are off tomorrow!!!! I have been reading your posts....and trying to learn my way around it...
Am so nervous and excited about your testing this coming weekend Inglochic...but am sure it will be positive...everything sounds pretty good for you. I have my appt with RE today. My AF still MIA!! So, I am guessing am not getting one this month. Am not sure how to feel about that!!! Thoughts? ~Blue I will check again later! Regards everyone!

Godiva - My follow up appt was just about what I expected.
The RE felt that the reason for our failure was completely due to the donor. She just did not respond well blah blah blah. To make a long story short. He handed me a profile of his "star" donor. He told me she was "reserved" for us until we decided what to do but we had first "dibs" on her. She has donated 4 times before and every time has had a successful birth result from the donation. Some of the couples have gone back to use the frozen embies and they also have resulted in all positive outcomes. This is the last time she will be allowed to donate as they have a rule of only donating 5 times. My DH is out of town so we have not had a chance to really discuss things. Let me add this bizarre twist on our situation. I am looking for some opinions on this. Yesterday after my RE appt I came home and told my daughter where I was and why. I told her everything! (she is 21 and home from college for 3 weeks) After a lengthy conversation, my daughter says. I will donate for you mom. I didnt know what to say or what to think. I still dont. On one hand, she is the perfect donor. She is practically my clone. On the other hand it is kind of weird to think that my "child" would also be my "grandchild" Regardless, it is one of the sweetest things she has ever said to me and I am thrilled that she thinks that much of me that she would offer to do this. Due to DH being out of town, we also have not discussed this either. At this point I am shying away from her offer but will still give it some thought. Sorry this is so long. I hope everyone is doing well. I will go back to read some posts as I have been MIA for a few days. Happy Thursday everyone.

Jak- Thanks for the update.... for what it's worth, at this given moment, here is my opinion on your daughter offering to donate for you.... Since she has never done this donor 'stuff' you don't know how she would respond either, and if it wasn't successful, then how would your relationship be??? I agree that it is so heartwarming that she offered that gift to you, but I think I would go for the 'star donor' your RE is reserving for you based on her track record! And on the flip side, if it was successful, later down the road how would it affect your relationship, like when she has children of her own???? Just food for thought.... my biggest reason for saying go for the proven donor is just that.... SHE IS PROVEN and has had lots of SUCCESS!
So, with that all said, I am glad that your RE recognized your desire to be successful and has reserved the 'star' for you if you want to use her, as well as that the failure had nothing to do with you! Best of luck in making your decision on what to do with your DH, the great thing is that you still have options and a plan to move forward with! Did your RE say when you could cycle if using the 'star donor'? KUP, and you crossed one more hurdle... the follow up!

jak-It sounds like you have a very special daughter. I think Godiva has some very good points, esp. the part about the other donor being proven. If you and your dh are giving it one more try I would tend to go for the sure thing.

pack I'm sorry about the setback. I know your donor is a friend so I'm assuming she'll stay on board with you? Jak wow what a wonderful thing for your daughter to do you didn't ask for lots of us mulling it over for you but I'm gonna do it anyhoo  pI would do it in a new York min! What better option to replace your DNA with your DNA many people have had sisters children even mothers who have been donors...succesful pregnancies, and happy babies have been born of these amazing partnerships. Talk about a family with a deep deep love relationship! If you did go this route you could elect to keep it a close family secret and really given that the DNA is the same you could elect tohide it forever since you know the history of the DNA line. They would run the standard tests to ensure the best outcome for you and her. If she does have any roadblocks in her frtility future this would help save her from years of TTC and snce you know that struggle you know how big that would be they will do group and one on one counseling as part of the process to ensure this won't be an emotional issue for anyone ( bad emotions I mean). They'll also walk her through the process in debth to make sure she is ok with what she will have to do while the baby will be yours and your dh's. I'm sure like most older parents you've considered the future of your new baby if something should unfortunately happen to the two of you. Given the great love that made her make this offer, I would think knowing that type of love was out there to watch over your child from near or far would be such an amazing comfort as well. I'd guess some of these donor situations ( family) have been written about. Before you dismiss the idea do some reading and see how their families have worked through the issues. I wish I had a daughter like yours! She's an amazing girl AFm. Day 3 is still too early lmao. Don't ask me how I know heh heh

Here is a Rant for You All
Hello everyone. Hope everything that is supposed to stick is sticking....
 Jak: I would not use your daughter as a donor for the reasons already explained here. Lia: How is the baby snuggling in? I wanted to say that in trying to get caught up with the posts yesterday, I was brought to tears on many occassions. Some were sad tears of rememberance of how much I longed to have a baby and a wish to see a for the first time. The pain was tangible as I hungered to be a mommy and have a child OF MY OWN. (I have horrid memories of being placed in the maternity ward to recover from complications of surgery due to endometriosis, while attending the infertility program at Kaiser. Or, sitting in the OB/GYN department on many occasions, sitting next to huge pregnant women while waiting for my HCG shot)I do not feel it 'selfish' to want a baby of my own. Adoption is wonderful, but those who would say we should give up and just adopt are usually ignorant of the statistics concerning baby adoptions, have never experienced the pain of infertility or are just callous in their thinking (there, I said it!). In reading the posts, I also had many happy tears remembering what it is like to see your baby's heartbeat, then to see an ultrasound where the baby is stretching and thriving. Although I have not experienced a miscarriage (I have had the scare of bleeding), my heart breaks for those who have. For those who have never had the opportunity to experience a life growing inside you, or to finally hold that baby in your arms, I want you to know that there is HOPE. There is nothing in this world that will replace carrrying that baby in your womb, kissing his lips for the first time and placing him upon your breast. NOTHING! I believe that God gave the doctors the ability to help those like us. Even 5 or 10 years ago, the odds were dismal..So, for such a time as this...it is OUR time. My motto was always that there is hope until I no longer had any avenues left. Becausae of my age, I must try to finish my family right away. I am taking lupron and estriadol, baby aspirin and an antibiotic in preparation for possible FET on JULY 17TH. Please include me in your list of things to do.... I am sorry my post was so long. YOU girls are always on my mind (even when I do not write posts) I am always praying for your success. Yes, we all have a very special bond that nobody else can understand...I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!!

Teresa- I like your idea about how to do SS alternating note months w/ gift months... what do you others doing SS think about this? I'm just happy to participate, so if y'all don't want to do it this way, that is ok with me too!
