Blue- Great news! Congrats on the great fertilization report...hoping many make it to be snowembies!

TNTanardell- I would ask if it is a split/shared cycle or you are the only recip., however that is a fantastic price! Also, just food for thought... several people including myself did a split cycle and got plenty of eggs and many left to be totsicles! So, if that price is for a split cycle and you use a proven donor, the outcome will most likely be just as good. ( w/ me we each got 14, and all fertilized, 10 made it to day 5, I tx 2, and have 8 snowembies) Several ladies that did solo ended up with less than my split amt, so just food for thought! Best of luck no matter what you decide... let us know when you get an appt!

Faith- Glad you made it safely and got a good report, even though a tiny tear, nothing to be alarmed about. Enjoy your nap...

I took a 10 min. break to ck. in here, now it's back to work!

Shelli – Don’t worry! 12 eggs will probably give your more embies than you’ll be able to use. As Faith said, it is all about quality. We had ~10 mature eggs at retrieval, transferred 2 with one still in the cooker and had have 4 very good quality tots on ice. I’m not sure what we’ll do with the ones on ice as this will probably be our only little one. I don’t like the idea of destroying them.

Helene – I’ve been thinking about you. If you go to a larger clinic where they do A LOT of amnio, the likelihood that you’d loose the pregnancy is 1:300-500 at the highest to 1:1600 the lowest (the results from the last study). The old data of 1:200 was based on testing in the 1980s when they did amnio without ultrasound! That being said, 1-3% of pregnacies are lost naturally. If the baby has Down Syndrome, there is a higher risk (~25%) that it will miscarry sometime between 16 weeks and birth with or without amnio.

Jennifer – Good job on doing your own PIO! My DH did every one of mine so he ended up going on a business trip with me to Phoenix in Dec. He actually loved it. He golfed and gave me shots, and I worked. Not bad. I hope that you like your new clinic. We changed right before DE and it put a number of little wrinkles in the process, but we were ultimately happy with our choice.

karmababy – Maybe your DH is kind of like mine…he thinks like a caveman. While has a feminine side, he doesn’t/didn’t know how to be supportive to a pregnant woman. He’s also struggling right now with his job due to the economy and all of the changes in his life. It’s strange, but he seems to need more support and babying than I do right now…and I’m 35 weeks along.

Bluebutterfly – Wow 24! You could have a sports team! If I knew more about sports, I could tell you what type. Best of luck!

TnTarendell – I would ask them for a price breakdown. The three clinics that I looked all had a list of the expenses associated with DE IVF. In addition to asking about whether this is a split cycle or not, you probably should ask if this includes only include the procedure? Does it include monitoring of both you and the donor? Does it include ICSI? Does it also include the donor compensation, legal, counseling, and testing expenses? In our area, traditional IVF costs ~$14,000 without ICSI. DE IVF with an in house donor ($5000 compensation), ICSI ($1500), freezing of extra embryos ($1500), screening donor ($2000), legal fees ($400), counseling for both donor and recipient ($400) and meds ($3000) is about $27,000 if you don’t have any insurance coverage. It does vary by area.

Faith – I’m glad that your doctor’s appointment went well, and that you’re adjusting to bed rest.

quick update

Hi!
I'm at work but wanted to post quick...
So the donor started on July 12th with her stim meds, and today they counted 25 follies. Would you say that is good?
Also, my lining was over a 9 (forget the exact number) so they were pleased. At least I'm doing something right!!
I will check in later this evening & do personals. I hope everyone is doing well! I've been lucking but not posting these last few days.
Happy Friday!!

Faith – So glad the car didn’t shed pieces as you were driving. Even happier to hear the babies are doing well. Get all the rest you can now because once those babies come……

TnT – Sounds like you have received lots of good advise so I am going to wish you good luck with your appointment.

Elizabeth – 25 is very good. Lots to fertilize and hopefully freeze!!

I just wanted to post a quick note. I'll catch up on my reading later, so to all, hope all is well.

Aubbie Kittie isn't going to make it. Which breaks our hearts here at home.

We lost the babies today as well. I'm going to take to my bed like in the olden days and just cry for a few hours. Not my day at all

TnTarendell- I would definitely sit down with the DE coordinator at your clinic and ask what that $13,000 covers. So far I have paid $8680.00 to my Donor Agency which covers the Donors $5000, Agency fees, Donor psych screening, some insurance and attorney fees. My clinic sent me a lovely bill for $3428.00 for their DE Coordinator and for the BW to do the state mandated STD testing on my Donor (insurance doesn't cover this). Then there is the $2663.39 for my Donor's drugs. My insurance covers everything else but this is still a lot of out-of-pocket expenses and this is my 4th IVF with DE round.

AFM - I have an US/BW appt tomorrow. My Donor got her period 7/15 so I am hoping my clinic will provide me with more info tomorrow after my appt.

Elizabethhopeful- 25 follies is great! Congrats to you.

Teresa- yes I think your donors are drinking the same water as well....things are rolling along for you now and it's full speed ahead. It's your turn now, after all your speedbumps along the way. Good things come to those who wait...(I keep telling myself this also)

Blue- great fert. report....best wishes for your tx on tuesday!

Malloned- how can it be you are graduating to OB already? That is great, so happy for you.

Finalfrontier- hoping your ET went well......

Helene- i'm sorry you have to go through all this worry.

Pack- wow that is great news, no surgery whoopee! The hysteroscopy will be a piece of cake. I will that everything is a-ok and you can proceed with your cycle very soon. Don't you love unexpected good news?

jdtx- the 2ww drags on...glad to hear that everything went well for you to get to this point...I have been MIA but thinking of you. 5 frozens is great too in case you want sibs! Best of luck on your beta next Thursday...I know it will be . It just has to!

Faith- glad to hear your appointment went well. It is a three hour round trip drive or each way? Hopefully you don't have to go back for a little while. Those babies are doing just great. Maybe you can take up a hobby to help the time pass while on bedrest? I've always wanted to learn how to crochet an afghan or blanket.....you can make a couple baby blankets!

Hope- ( I always think of you and Faith together b/c of the names....we just need a "love" on here now lol) 15 weeks sure flew by...glad to hear you have been doing well.

Karens- I would love to have my ER on your birthday and I will take any luck that I can get!

Shellie9- don't feel bad about 12 fantastic follies! Quality, baby, quality. You should be getting very excited!

Sanda- I would love to be your cycle buddy! Yea! Any Lupron side effects? I am the queen of Lupron as I have been on it since 7/21 lol! Can't wait to start Estrogen and put some hormones back in my system.

LGB- I am so happy to hear you have your dates for FET at the end of Aug. I'm really pulling for you girl....this is going to happen for you I just know it! Please KUP.

Godiva- okay stop checking the board and get back to work! What project are you working on? I'm finding it hard to get motivated lately...I could use some ideas. Hopefully AF isn't giving you too many problems today.

Ladies I feel bad even posting these personals after igloo's news, but I needed to catch up with you. I am saddened by that...thinking of you and your family, Igloo.
